You want to be proud of our cricketers. They are lucky in sorts it happened over this weekend of sport and during an away tour.
If this happened during the ashes it would been bedlam.

Oh well, can go back to not giving a **** about the national team for the rest of the year.

Other Aussie sports people offering their thoughts:

Maybe he should have tampered with their skis.

Don't think he ever actually won gold lol.

(yes this is 100% a joke)

Cricket Australia Statement

March 25, 2018

Cricket Australia provides the following update in light of events with the Australian Men’s Team in Cape Town, South Africa.

Cricket Australia CEO, James Sutherland said:

“Following discussions with Steve Smith and David Warner they have agreed to stand down as Captain and Vice-Captain respectively for the remainder of this Test match.

“This Test match needs to proceed, and in the interim we will continue to investigate this matter with the urgency that it demands.

“As I said earlier today, Cricket Australia and Australian cricket fans expect certain standards of conduct from cricketers representing our country, and on this occasion these standards have not been met.

“All Australians, like us, want answers and we will keep you updated on our findings, as a matter of priority,” concluded Mr Sutherland.

On the board decision to appoint an Acting Captain, Cricket Australia Chairman, David Peever said:

“The Board of Cricket Australia has endorsed Tim Paine to step in as Acting Captain for the remainder of this Test.

“Both Steve and David will take to the field today under Tim’s captaincy.

“The Board fully supports the process for an immediate investigation into what occurred in Cape Town. We regard this as a matter of the utmost seriousness and urgency. We will ensure we have all information available to make the right decisions for Australian Cricket,” Mr Peever concluded.

Easy to say, now I'm down to just our VFL side. Shit isn't ideal.

Anywho all, do we think Woolworfs will give Warner back his old job of shelf stacking?

Pretty hilarious the Saffers booing the Australians onto the field though.

Short memories.

(du Plesis x2 + Philander)

Don’t try to take the moral high ground, the whole culture of Aussie cricket stinks

How is calling out the ignorance of the fans at the ground taking the moral high ground?

Simply stating facts.

They have a bloke on their team who still has demerits for multiple instances of ball tampering captaining them (and refused to own up to it even with clear video evidence), its hilarious they're reacting the way they are.

Those in glass houses.

Yet Smith will cop way more than those two ever did and he wasn't even the one who touched the ball.

Warney and AB angry and embarrassed in the opening tonight.

Micheal Holding not holding back.

Rightfully so, this is a group of entitled bullies who piss, moan and now cheat when shit doesn’t go their way, couldn’t give a **** what crowds and players say to warner and co, you talk shit and you should expect it back. The moral reasoning of some in the media is deadset laughable

Ok so when Lehmann called on Aussie fans to get stuck into Stuart Broad in 2013/14 that’s cool?, you act like dickheads expect the favour to be returned when you slip up.

Bang on. Definition of a bully is one who gives but can't take. That Warner was ever vice captain is a disgrace. Lehman is just as bad.

How are those 2 incidents even remotely similar?

I'm not in anyway excusing what the Australian's did.

But the outrage of the SA Public is laughable when they have a long history of doing the same.

If you seriously think they weren’t getting booed after that regardless of what happened previously you don’t know the psyche of a spirt fan, these guys did the wrong thing, regardless of whatever history pre dates it this group of players are renowned for intimidating, bullying, and displaying conduct not becoming of any sportsman, you’d better believe opposing supporters are going to sink the boots in when they see an opportunity

And I'll think it's just as ridiculous if we boo another team in Australia for ball tampering if it so happens that a team does it against us.

Looking for an edge against a team (by booing them) is all well and good, but you can still look like a right numpty doing it. It's not mutually exclusive.

I don’t follow cricket but couldn’t help but get caught up in this.

They have disgraced our country. Find out who was involved and get rid of all of them

What I’m saying is just because there has been instances of this crap in the past doesn’t mean these guys shouldn’t be admonished, the other carry on is just gravy. You act like a campaigner be prepared for it to be returned. This group of blokes enjoy the smell of their own farts and think their untouchable, their behaviour over this entire tour is ****ing disgraceful and there is no moral reasoning that can excuse that
