Tidal wave of support for both Smith and Bancroft. Sounds like they both handled that as well as they could.

Interesting that Warner isn't taking the same advice ad they have, and has instead posted a written message and asked for time to talk to people he trusts before saying anything else.

The more I hear from Smith the more I feel he was unfairly pulled into the saga and that he probably had a lot less to do with it than what the general public thinks.

All of his wording was around "I shouldn't have let it happen under my watch", "I'm the Australian captain and it shouldn't have happened on my watch", Not- "I was involved and instructed them to do it"

Just my gut feel.

**** that’s hard watching smith.

The more that this evolves it seems as though Warner’s created a ****ing tidal wave of shit and taken Bancroft and smith with him

CA just haven’t read the room at all.

Everyone wanted action taken, they seemed oblivious to how much public discontent surrounded the action and the pressers after it

When they woke up to it, they have misread it as a desire to see massive sanctions and thrown the book at them.

Cracked a walnut with a sledgehammer IMO.

Lehmann stepping down is official.

The right move, unfortunately. Even if he didn't know as coach he's part of it.

Now Sutherland needs to go and Australia can get a clean air and rebuild it's shattered reputation.

Smith and Bancroft are not bad people, they fronted up to the media and admitted their errors in tough circumstances, they'll be forgiven.

What a shithouse night tonight's been for anyone who loves cricket and Australian Cricket particularly.

Warner did front the cameras with his wife and daughters briefly upon arrival into Sydney where he was asked if he knew Lehmann had resigned. He said his priority was getting his two kids to bed and asked for a couple of days to clear his head before responding with his own presser.

This whole mess has highlighted how scott free the ball tamperers of other nations have got off.

Smith will be back.

Bancroft too if form permits in 18 months or so.

Not so sure about Warner.

The ICC have announced they are reviewing their player code of conduct, meanwhile on Twitter us Aussies have jumped back on our high horses and are taking the moral high ground against Indians bagging Smith and Australian cricket.

The Captain went down with his crew. Simple.
Uncharacteristic of Smith.
But straight away Warner seemed the culprit.
Shit go to tarnish ones career like that

I can see Smith returning with a steely determination and hunger for runs even beyond his already insatiable appetite, playing on into his late 30's and retiring a legend.

Yep.
Carey, Warne, Tiger, Andrew Johns - Smith will be amongst esteemed atheletes to have fallen on their sword
