Sorry to say that bypassed me. What was said?

“He probably opened his mouth before his brain had got working,” Marsh said after announcing the Test squad.

“It might have been early in the morning ... he loves a sleep in, Uzzie.

“It wasn’t the smartest thing he’s said, but that’s life.”

So the gutless organisation that is CA elevate Hohns who gets a gig by default for being the head selector when we had one of the best eras of any period and more test quality players to pick from than anyone else and Greg ****ing Chappell lol

What a waste of money the Argus review was lol

They need someone to step in at short notice. Don't have a problem with it as a temporary measure.

A bloke that has been sacked as a selector recently and also banned from the Australian dressing room at the request of players lol

Good choice:thumbsu:

CA needs a fresh face on the selection panel, someone not long out of the game- Like Greg Chappell of the 80's who helped shaped a dominant period of Australian cricket. Its like there are only 6 people to choose from in the country. Reeks of a boys club imo.

Understand that its a fill in position, but surely they could of thought outside of the box on this one occasion?

Well, like him or loathe him, Chappell is the National Talent Manager so if you need someone to fill in as a selector for a little while, he is the obvious choice. As is Trevor Hohns, already on the selection panel, to step up as chairman.

Neither of these are permanent positions, and CA really need to take their time to get the choice of new selector right. Rushing it is a bad idea.

Voges had to retire hurt after being hit by a bouncer. Taken to hospital for check up. His time is up.

Probably not the correct sentiment after recent events... I'm certain we all hope he is ok & back out there making tons against everyone but the bushrangers soon.

Speaking of; spewing that Travis Dean had struggled in the previous 2 matches, as this century may have seen him replace Burns (who failed today).

Another thing to note is that Dean & Handscomb have just scored centuries against a team whose bowlers have all played test cricket!

Great article, absolutely spot on.
Cricketers mature later than footballers and 25 is still young in cricketing terms and to enforce age restrictions is ridiculous.

I've known blokes who've gone to Melbourne grade cricket that were good cricketers but couldn't get a good crack at it because the "cricket w***ers" make judgement calls because they hadn't gone through the correct pathway and weren't 16 when they made the move down there.

Thanks GR.

Did you get any footage of Faf masticating on a Jr mint and then licking the ball?

Just double checked the spelling there...

The article says what I thought since it was conceived: T20 has ruined proper cricket.

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I like watching and playing T20 but the kids coming through are losing or not interested in the art of cricket.

It is filtering through the coaching tanks too. I've had my level 1 coaching accreditation for 8 years. Every junior coach is meant to have it. A mate did his last year and he asked the level 3 instructor about teaching the correct technique for a cut shot. The instructor said there is no best technique just throw 50 balls at them and they would work out what's best for them. No wonder or batsmen struggle on anything other than flat roads.

I had only seen a still before that. He was certainly giving that mint a rub before transferring its powers of reverse to the pill.

So, do we know how long a suspension for Faf?

He has past form. Used a zipper on his pants to tamper with the ball. Having said that he'll only get a fine.
