If I looked up "flat track bully" in the dictionary, I would fully expect to see a picture of David Warner.
If the dictionary people were doing their jobs properly.
McGrath said on the broadcast today that Warner had absolutely no luck during Ashes.
Yeah Pigeon, he got unlucky 10 times in a row. It wasn't that he was appalling or anything, or that Broad had him bamboozled. He was just unlucky to make 91 runs in a series and yet retain his spot.
The sycophancy towards Warner from the media is sickening.

If Shaun Marsh produces those numbers, he would’ve been hung, drawn and quartered.

Warner batting at home in dry conditions on day 2 of that Gabba wicket against a touring Pakistani squad is as flat track as it gets.
The most meaningless century ever scored.

I can't stand the blokes histrionics.

He carries on as if he has scored a triple century against the 1981 West Indies pace battery.

That’s a crock of shit. I’m no fan of Warner, he’s a rude, obnoxious bully (much like a certain poster on here) but coming back from a piss poor series, first game in his home country for 2 years against a much hyped attack that was in form during the warm up games makes it very meaningful.

Tell me this, is Labushagnes maiden test century meaningless because it was on a placid Gabba pitch?

Yes, largely. His innings in the Ashes were more impressive.

Would be a shit load worse if they werent scoring these runs though, wouldnt it? Conditions are favourable, sure, but youve still gotta go out there and do it.

Steve didn't, are we putting him to the flame?

Yeah, much like Ben Browns 10 goals against Port was meaningless.

What shit.
It’ll mean a lot to him and his family but in the context of the match had he gone out for 20 we would still be going in with a big lead. How meaningful is Smith’s 4?

Wheres the logic in that? Smith is shit. If he can’t score runs on this pitch there’s no point picking him for the rest of the summer.
You’re bringing up Brown’s 10 goals to emphasise a single performance.

The point which I stand by is that I rate the runs he made in England as better than the likely double century he will make here. It was against better quality opponents in tougher conditions when everyone aside from Smith was failing around him. More meaningful in my opinion. You can disagree, that’s fine.

You said the innings was largely meaningless. Your words. His performance was good in England but still couldn’t go on to make a 100.

You said we would still have a big lead if he failed. Maybe, maybe not. If he goes cheaply at 3 and Smith gets his 4 then there’s a lot of pressure on the middle order which has struggled in recent past.

The fact our top 3 all finally made runs doesn’t make any of innings meaningless. They still have to go out and score the runs and at international level that is never easy.

If you had said at the start of the innings our top 3 would average 150 you would have been laughed at.

I don’t understand why we want to degrade good performances.

Do you think this innings is more valuable than his Ashes performances?

Absolutely. In the Ashes we lost 2 and won 1 when he played. So it was only the first innings in the 4th test that was of any value.

This innings has set us up for the win and he will be man of the match.

You are making a lot of scene Kangatime correct on every post you have replied to on this matter . Love him hate him loathe him . Warner has set up this win for us To bring up Marsh well he had more chances than any cricketer that has worn the baggy green.

good win for the Aussies. we'd love to have your bowling attack at the moment !

Kiwis just posted 600 against the poms. Archer behaved like a pork chop for most of the innings. Bowled medium pace and looked disinterested. how do you go from bowling 150 k to 125-130k ? Not like it was 40 C . Sure it was a slow track, but he seriously needs to grow up.
anyway 600 when you're 80-4 is pretty good going
