Will 35 runs in the morning be enough? They don’t have Virat.

For some reason I wasn’t invited. Would have been nice for a few of us to have caught up to try some of your cooking. Those non vegetarians amongst us anyway.Funnily enough no. Lamb shanks, Pork ribs, soy chicken, sashimi, kim-chi, salads, garlic bread > wine > beer > cake > coffee and a kids movie
No time for cricket ! You shoudda been there![]()
Like a fine wine this post.Do people not realise India's batting line up is completely shithouse?
Kohli a star but struggles here, Pujara a soldier, the rest are no good.
He's just one of those crap players that make can make a ton away from home against the best bowling lineup in the world.
Anyone else think Langer needs to take a bit of heat for the generally mediocre batting? Batting has been largely insipid since he took over - and I loathe Lehmann, who was a sh*t coach, sh*t bloke and certifiable moron.
Langers combination of Christian motivational speaker/personal development platitudes and “back in the boys” approach looks pretty average from the outside.
Too many bogans in the set up in general, as there has been since the end of the Waugh years.
We beat St Kilda in round 2. Nekminet - 17th.Wait a minute. Last week we demolish them in Adelaide and this week it’s a blokey culture that needs Langer out?

I was scrolling through pics and came across the Every Minute article counts from pre season 2020.We beat St Kilda in round 2. Nekminet - 17th.
Runs deeper than that. Only 4 players in the past 5 years have averaged 40+ whilst batting 1-6, and one of those (Maxwell) is a T20/ODI slogger who hasn't played First Class cricket in over a year who only played 3 Tests in that time. The other three are far from orthodox - Smith, Labuschagne and Warner. The only ones who average over 40 outside of Australia are Smith, Voges, Maxwell, Finch and Labuschagne (The latter four having played less Tests between them overseas than Smith)
That's basically an entire generation of Australian batsmen who have poor techniques, or mindsets, or shot selection, or adaptability to conditions and speaks of systemic failures in batting pathways across the country. Further to that, too much emphasis on white ball cricket, too many flat pitches and insufficiently competitive First Class cricket. By the time they reached Lehmann/Langer they were already vulnerable goods. Exhibit A is Joe Burns - a bloke with a moderate FC record (Avg 39), having been dropped from Test level a number of times before, with questionable footwork, a scrambled mind, zero form and no sense of his off-stump getting selected due to a paucity of other viable options. Exhibit B is the constipated batting and inability/reluctance to hit the ball off the square because of challenging opposition and a pitch that asks questions of the batsmen.
Do you think 20/20 has messed technique this past decade?Runs deeper than that. Feels like one hundred million years ago now.Round 1.
It was gws in r2.

I know. Its a weird feeling.Feels like one hundred million years ago now.
Good question. Ajinkya Rahane is a product of the IPL culture, but can show up on a challenging, overseas pitch against quality opposition and has a technique that sees him bat all day at a strike rate of just 50. So why can't Australian batsmen? Does Rahane have that much more talent than Head or Khawaja or Marsh or nearly any other Australian batsman of the past 5 years? Why couldn't a bloke like Maxwell, for all his talent, be coached to being anything other than an ODI slugger and T20 gun-for-hire? Was it always this way for him? When was he tagged as exclusively white ball? Was he failed by his coaches or by himself? Or, in his own mind, has he failed at all?
It certainly messed mindsets in Australia batting. Our record against good attacks on challenging pitches (As opposed to outstanding attacks and minefield pitches - Bumrah & Ashwin are very good, Jadeja is alright but the other two are average, and this MCG pitch is actually a fair pitch) is terrible. How have any of the batsmen in this match tried to counter Bumrah? Who's tried to put the game back to Ashwin by using their feet to get down to him? Because the runs are hard, there are few runs at all and certainly no intent to break up the game.
