One of the great things about this, aside from the confidence boost it will give the batsmen, especially these two, is that our bowlers are in the dressing room with their feet up, resting for the next test and hopefully won't even have to face one ball with the bat.

According to the commentators, the weather and conditions at the next ground will be cooler and "nothing like the first three test matches." Another plus.

Khawaja despite his sub continent record batted really well over the summer. Would've backed him to provide a lot more than Marsh in the first two tests

Last Test top scored with 66 in the 1st innings to set up a great lead. Like the rest of the batsmen in the 2nd innings, they shit the bed.

Focusing on his only acceptable effort from a stretch of abysmal garbage is a bit disingenuous.

Anyone with half a cricketing brain could see Marsh was one of our best batsmen in the 2nd Test on a terribly sub standard pitch. Calling for his head after the 1st innings was just posting reactive bullshit, especially as they have been playing on goat tracks.

So now he has is playing a match saving innings to keep the Aussies alive in the hardest tour in world cricket to win. To me that is a good selection and worthy of support. You want to call that disingenuous, I'll call it knowing what I'm talking about.

This innings has saved face for him good on him.

But i still think Kawhaja deserved a spot in the first test.
