Well I know you'd all be hanging for an update on how my cricket career is tracking. Last week if you recall I dodged the man with the sickle. But he's never far away, more on that later.
I arrived early sucked it all in, mental preparation is important went for a walk into the middle and surveyed my surroundings. Was overcast and a bit sticky, I saw Tony Grieg heading my way with what from a distance looked like the weather wall...... turned out it wasn't TG as I remembered he's no longer with us (RIP) it was old dude with a tele, I assumed it wasn't his by the look on his face, but I'm non judgemental. Lets not forget this was Doveton V Dandy West.
Same as the youngsters milling around your vehicle..... a tip they aint hanging around looking for an autograph.
I asked if I could come in at four, which in our team usually means you've around five overs to get ready

. True to form I'm in and we're in trouble deep, strode to the wicket like Viv Richards ( well in my mind) probably was hunched over and dragging my bat tbh.
Well bam nn off the mark with a classic back foot beauty- four!!
Was on fire got to 18 and was thinking the reverse sweep could be on the cards, but decided after I ran my team mate out..... only quick singles I'm involved in are the ones I get credit for- no one has every been congratulated for running well for someone else, I did tell him that.
Anywho took off for another run ( yes was mine) and bang.......... big toe's given way, turf toe by the looks, I mean really I hadn't got close to twenty for years and here I was in total control and it was over. Got myself out a couple of balls later playing off one foot. The man with the sickle smiled, of that I'm sure.
Then all week at work everyone be like oh what you done, I couldn't be bothered explaining , so I just say yeah I've shit myself- squashes the conversation real quick!
I'll be back- stay tuned peeps. Oh we won
