I have often wondered if Brad Scott is also the on the Australian cricket selectors committee with their choices of going old over new.

Starc provides a difference being a southpaw. Ideally our lineup would be Pattinson, Starc, Hazelwood and spinner

Yeah I'm a fan of Starc now and obviously think he's a genuine gun, but 18-24 months ago he just seemed, I dunno, too benign. He had all the weapons - fast, left armer and could swing the ball - but he had no aggression and bowled too many half volleys outside off stump.

If Cummins and Pattinson were fit I would have no issue if we decided to play four quicks with Smith bowling slightly more often, particularly in Australia, South Africa and England. Different story on the subcontinent though.

Handscomb will play in adelaide, look forward to see what Patterson can do when NSW get in to bat. If he puts in a decent score then Handscomb and Patterson should be in the 11 for Adelaide and given an extended run in the team for years to come.

I like the theory but would only be playing Maxwell aginst teams of sub district level like Bangladesh.I doubt ther has been a more overrated thing in cricket since Darren Berry's wicket keeping skills.

I never rated Neville's batting skill, and wade is too poorer gloveman to be playing at test level IMO

He isn't going to come in as a keeper surely? He'd be coming in purely as a batsman. Don't think he has played as a keeper for nearly two years at domestic level if I'm not mistaken?

Darren Berry taught me how to keep when he was a student teacher at my school for a few weeks, so whilst I respect your opinion on most things, I must say that anyone who can stump David Boon down the legside off Paul Reifell goes OK in the keeping department.

The point being for subcontinent cricket, having an offie, a leggie and a left arm orthodox is a nice little trifecta to throw at the opposition, especially combined with a Starc/Hazlewood combo.

Maxwell with a licence to do what he pleases is a dangerous customer, especially on small grounds against spin.

The tone of their responses is annoying, but winners are grinners. Everyone tries to cheat with this rule, Australia isn't as good at it as SA are and England were.

Pretty sure it's not Australia laying the charge, though. And it's harder to take from a guy who didn't have anything to do with the wins.
