Regardless of how much they win by and whether or not in the long run what he did affected the test match, What he did was strictly against the laws of the ICC, you just can't do what he did.

Just because they won doesn't mean you can get away with it. Steyn should probably pull his head in just a little. Would be like saying just because SL won Muralitharans chucking should go unreported.

Darren Berry taught me how to keep when he was a student teacher at my school for a few weeks, so whilst I respect your opinion on most things, I must say that anyone who can stump David Boon down the legside off Paul Reifell goes OK in the keeping department.

The point being for subcontinent cricket, having an offie, a leggie and a left arm orthodox is a nice little trifecta to throw at the opposition, especially combined with a Starc/Hazlewood combo.

Maxwell with a licence to do what he pleases is a dangerous customer, especially on small grounds against spin.

Fair enough Arj. I watched a lot of Berry keeping and always found he made the mundane look spectacular.

As for Maxwell, in my opinion he's a luxury that the current team can't afford. If we had a Gilchrist or a Hadden following him at 7, we could live with his ill disciplined batting and savour the occasion bit of brilliance. Unfortunately, at present once we are 4 down we might as well declare.

He isn't going to come in as a keeper surely? He'd be coming in purely as a batsman. Don't think he has played as a keeper for nearly two years at domestic level if I'm not mistaken?

We might finally have a live one here. Let's not burden him with the gloves. Just let him bat. It was 30 years ago but I still recoil in horror at the memories of Wayne Phillips behind the stumps.

Lol, just read on ESPN, Australia didn't even make a complaint about the ball tampering, it was handed down post match by ICC officials.

Wade gets the nod over Neville. We need batsmen and Nevill missed a relatively easy stumping of De Kock anyway. Agar adds to the batting and has 12 FC scalps this season(might be injured though) and Bird might be able to extract something out of Adelaide. I always rated Bird as 3rd seamer.

I think whiteman or Bancroft should play before Wade. Wade hasn't been in good form with the bat in the last couple of weeks. Neither has bancroft but he is a far superior glove man!
