Bird and Lyon look like openers at the minute!!

That security guard just absolutely railed that streaker!!! Nice tackle!

Disappointed for Maddinson he is an elite talent but he didn't have form leading into his chance at test level. If he doesn't perform i'd be giving Kurt Patterson a crack. Hopefully we don't go back to Shaun Marsh I think it's time to play the younger guys. Would have him third in line behind Patterson and Head for the next opportunity.

Maddinson has the talent but not the mental game, he shouldn't have even been considered due to FC career so far

No doubting his talent the kid can play. But he hasn't developed the temperament for test cricket yet. Patterson, like Renshaw and Handscomb has the form and the right shots

Should have been given multiple one-dayers first... & then the selectors could go from there. One of the more puzzling test selections I can recall.

When you're given your NSW cap, you get a baggy green as well.

Watching this afternoon I learned from the NSW commentary centipede that the purpose of the Australian Cricket Team is to create a development pathway for Nick Maddinson.

They were almost upset Khawaja and Handscomb selfishly got starts and in the process cockblocked the development of the chosen one. Tubby then almost hit climax with Nick's solitary boundary.

I don't reckon he has the technique either.
He is just one of these prop forward new age eye players that can handle a white ball but will only come off every so often against a red ball, mostly against moderate FC attacks.
Is completely out of his depth and I think the likes of Waugh (who was pushing for him) should explain how the eff he got picked.

" Nic Maddinson may have failed again with the bat but he still earned praise for his selfless second innings cameo in Australia's day-night Test against Pakistan in Brisbane.

Four runs may not look like a productive return on the scoreboard, especially if it is next to the name of under-fire rookie Maddinson.

But Australia team-mate Usman Khawaja says Maddinson's second innings meant a lot to the hosts.

Maddinson thrashed his first Test boundary but went out swinging next ball from the bowling of Wahab Riaz in Australia's quest for quick runs before a declaration on day three on Saturday. "

NSW team-mates now picking the side.

Tell me you forgot to mention this was a Greenfield/Titus article?

If Usman was impressed at that effort he must've wet himself at Lyon in the first innings then.

Oh wow when i read this i thought it was just you being sarcastic. Then i realized it's an actual quote.

Shocking start by the Pakis.

Bowlers are sharp, batsmen have talent, but just not suited to our Gabba pitch.

I knocked Smith as a bad Captain (gun batsman) but this series is easy. We have Ashes next in the UK, we need to improve to win that, Smith Captaincy included.

Wade with "Garry" calls....**** me.

Is it illegal to forcibly muzzle him?
