I have no idea who this is, but he seems to have a decent first class record.

Ive watched him heaps over the years. This year has been very good and last year exceptional.
He also played for the CA XI in the Matador Cup last year and was a solid performer in a poor side
What gets me is why rush a bloke in, when the likes of Khawaja et all need 5+ years to prove themselves. Is this change of tact an admission of poor choice in the past?

Same with playing Cartwright in the test side his bowling isn't that impressive. Head or Patterson are the next in line to get a shot.

That's one of my pet hates too. Don't get me wrong, its nice seeing sixes, but if a spinner does someone in flight, and they miss hit it, I'd like to see them rewarded rather than it lobbing for 6

Exactly, McCullum was miss-hitting 6s over mid off from the opening quicks. That's just crap. I know T20 is all about big hits, etc but how about a bit of.balance, Also don't bring the boundary ropes in so far. The straight boundaries were off the fence about 20 metres last night.

It's great seeing 6's until they become the norm rather than the exception. That's the problem with this format.

I hate it more in test cricket rather than 20/20 to be honest. Its killing the spinners

Agree Spider.

Combined with flat pitches and ropes so far in it too often appears like lambs to the slaughter for bowlers.

Shit shots go for 6, simply not how the game should be played.

They need to balance it better, but then the average watcher and new devotees probably couldn't give a rats, it's just runs and entertainment.
