The problem with the GOAT is he is just plain vanilla. Just doesn't trouble test batsmen often enough.

He has an over reliance on bounce, without which he appears a nets trundler, lacking the additional tricks in his armoury to beat them. His only hope of impacting this game is if the pitch plays up more late in the test, otherwise he's far too easy to play for the Indians.

Agree. Lyon is the type who gets wickets purely because batsman make mistakes, he is not near a threat or good quality bowler.

We need to move on from him imo, anyone gets wickets if bowled enough. We've become better by getting rid of old players, Lyon also now needs to go.

Just play a part time offie if need be until someone quality comes along.
