$$$Not really sure what my own point here is other than it seems to be a complete anomaly. At a time when Ireland and Afghanistan are being brought into Test cricket, other nations seem to have no time or inclination to play each other. Even next year, when Australia are spending the whole winter in the UK, there's no Test scheduled against Ireland. Not even for a warm up. Afghanistan played their debut test last June, got humiliated, but aren't scheduled to play another one until at least next September. Could Australia have snuck over there on their recent tour? Probably not - the T20 series actually drew a crowd bigger than a few dozen and if no one tours Pakistan anymore, how is anyone heading to Afghanistan?
Test cricket has a number of issues at the moment that the ICC seems to do little about and scheduling is just one of them.
CA wouldnt exactly be banging the ICC's door down to get Bangers or Zim here for an extended series. Imagine the turnout at an MCG test lol
