Aussies can't blame the pitch.

In saying that though, the Indians are more used to bowling on this sort of pitch than we are. Dead and flat, they attacked the stumps and our batsmen weren't up to it. We bowled defensively wide hoping for them lose patience, play a bad shot and get out. They also have Pujara who plays forward defensive shots in his sleep.

As arden station said our bowlers are letting us down

Starc and Hazelwood haven't been at their best this series. Both are coming back from injury layoffs. They were bowled into the ground in Sth. Africa and that's because our batting is shite and they are forced into doing what they're doing today, backing up again after **** all rest between innings.

This is spot on. Hazelwood and Starc are way overrated - both consistently fall away in their action and don't get the seam upright. Hazelwood constantly bowls too short and Starc is erratic.

They were both outbowled in South Africa and now against India. Their fast bowlers present the seam upright and get more movement.

All that said, this MCG wicket is still rubbish.
Rubbish for us but India not finding it too difficult.

Brett Geeves goes bang!!!

View attachment 599365
Geeves has been in the news himself with his front foot over the line detection system. He needs more $$$ to refine it before it can be adopted for use in real matches.

I suspect that there will be a better option than his but at least he's put an invention out there to deal with signalling no balls.

Great comment . Hit the nail on the head.

Nah, it's held up reasonably well.

Nothing really spitting or rolling like Perth. It's just hard to score on if you bowl straight and set your field in front of the wicket.

I am talking about the crease...if Lyons gets the ball in there or any of the Bowlers for that matter...boom shakalaka

Reckon we can bat a day and a half spider?

If so it will be all thanks to the tail Enders hanging around.

Jeez we’ve put so much load on the bowlers lately

Just to get an idea how far downhil Australian cricket has gone, consider this.

There was an extended period of time when Matthew Elliot, Brad Hodge, Stuart Law and Darren Lehmann couldn't get a game in our test team.

Now they would be the best 4 batsmen in the team.

Greg Blewett

Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer couldn't get in the side for a few years either.
I recall when Taylor and Slater were replaced from the test side and how big it was. Healy too. But those two took opening the batting like a duck to water.
Embarrassment of riches
