It was the first thing Mrs Mav noticed!

Have to say, watching Foxsports coverage I hate the fact I now like Michael Vaughan.
Never thought I'd say this about Fox, but their coverage of the cricket this Summer (or at least the two test series because that's all I've watched) has been first class IMO. Kerry O'Keefe can get occasionally grating, and Mark Waugh is a bit of a smug prick, but they're both not too bad most of the time. It's been a completely different standard to the mess of a boy's club that Channel Nine turned into in the latter years.

Isa Guha is a genuine superstar of a commentator as well. She's not only a cricket encyclopedia, but she usually lets the action speak for itself, which was obviously one of Richie's famous rules, and again, was completely lost forgotten in the latter years at Nine by either the production team or the commentators themselves. As a bonus, her accent or voice tone or whatever is most pleasing on the ear.

Not to get too off topic from our team, but HOLY ****ING SHIT. WI just crushed England in a god damned session. I got home at half 2 and it's too damned hot to sleep, so watching some test match cricket was a good go with a few more drinks. Absolute clinic. Straight up and down some of the best bowling I've seen recently. And it was the combination of bowlers, Roach obviously taking 5 makes it seems like he just killed it, and his movement in the air was great, but every god damned wicket was length.

The balls that didn't get wickets, even the ones that got hit for four, set up each of the batsmen for failure. Holder's first wicket of the say, gets tonked down the ground, puts it a bit shorter and gets past the edge, then puts it back to almost the exact same position as the tonk, boom, out at gully. And every single one that followed was length, not unplayable swinging yorkers.

Even the short stuff was at the neck or collorbone, not the head, or above. And it was sparsely used. Even when they were into the tail, on a length, on a length, on a length, one at your chest, wicket.

The pitch was not that bad for variation of bounce, it was disciplined use of technique and repitition with variation. Something that, at times, feels pretty god damned lacking in our bowlers. Sure we have just done well against SL, but at the Gabba in a D/N, hardly a good comparason really, let alone the previous attempts.

Anyway, enough of the rant, I just wish we used length with that kind of discipline.

She’s sex when listening

We should have played India in the first test and gone 1-0 up as usual

Starc should be watching Richardson for how to bowl the fuller ball

West lndies 2nd innings 6/120.
Poms a show !

West lndies 6th wicket partnership = 295

Poms a no show
Earlier today JB and Co laughed at how the West Indies declared at 450 runs or whatever against England.
Fair to say we'd struggle against a Kenyan test team.

Can we drop the Sri Lankan commentator for the next test? He's so bad.

The Indian commentator was first class, this guy pales in comparison

Have it on very good authority that Pucovski was told he was playing the first test, family and friends were instructed to fly up to Brisbane. There was then a last-minute change of heart, and Pucovski (obviously) didn't play. Very poor and doesn't reflect well on the coach and selectors.

Yes that was tweeted to CA almost word for word what you said.
