It might or might not, and he didn’t know for sure Paine would review it (he seems to have learned just today that you don’t have to review every appeal that is turned down). I don’t think batsmen are obliged to walk - high stakes, it’s their living, and god knows they still have to go enough on umpiring calls when they aren’t out or it’s 50:50 - but my respect for a player does go up when they choose to do it.
