Then who opens? if Will Puckovski opens, the indians would simply bounce him until he is concussed again. Wade has shown his aggressive counter attacking mindset and if he can be partnered with warner, then it's a good duo. Warner isn't the messiah to solve all issue either. If he is cramped for room, he is susceptible to balls pitch up that moves away a little i.e. stuart broad.

Not too sure about if P can hack it at this level. Should start him against sri lanka/west indies so that he face up to some gentle medium pacers and get his confidence in. Once a person has settled and is confident, stepping up is much easier.

head is okay if he is playing against loose teams like pakistan, sri lanka, west indies but against quality oppositions, he won't be score much more than 30 per inning...

I would happily play JPatto ahead of him, reckon he'd outscore him with the bat plus you get the extra quick.

I don't disagree, pattinson seem to be too good not to be in the team but i don't think he has shown the credential to play the long format.

At one time there was talk of having JP in the team as the bowling allrounder but if that's the case, paine at 6 would leave too long of a tail as pattinson as an allrounder would be someone who average sub 30...

Green is a solid unit at no.6 and could be the succesor to Hazelhood, i.e. tall, consistent bowler at 140km who plays the holding role.

Now not for 1 minute do i think we are the no 1 side in terms of personnel. But we've won consistently at home and our away form prior to the Aussie tour was pretty good. If we took part in the final at Lords then I'd rate our chances pretty highly. Got a good attack for English conditions and Williamson is scoring runs for fun at the moment.

I think NZ rugby is in for a tough couple of years. Just lost so many players overseas to Japan and Europe which means they don't qualify for All Black selection
