Time to fire up the blowtorch. All of the excuses for Wade are bullshit.

It's always been harder to get out of the side than in to the side.

I'd play Maxwell until a kid jumps out. He gives us a part time spinner, the potential of a match changing batsman, and is worth 20+ runs in the field. He'd certainly match Wade's average of 30 odd.

Not the worst idea. He never plays FC cricket which makes it harder to select him. Would cause a heap of fans to go nuts.

DEFINITELY be a ratings booster.

Not unplayable, this is in addition to his ridiculous dismissal in the first.

Yeah fair enough that he has the odd brain fade.

There’s just no one putting on any pressure on his spot.
Head is pretty much in the same position

It would upset Slater so that's a massive plus.

Slater losing his shit when Maxwell gave away his wicket in England at the WC was priceless, wasn't exactly Mr Patience himself with shot selection.

Certainly sooking it up Spidey.
Bumrah flicking the bails off wouldn't be tolerated at kids games. Wonder what Pistol said to him after?

not that bad an idea Snake. Didn't he get a hundred in India reasonably recently ?

What happened to Renshaw ?. He looked ok to me and in the few minutes I've given the big bash he seems to be batting well

Maxwell got a hundred in the second last test on an India tour in 2017. He was then given three more tests in India and Bangladesh where he didn't get a big score but wasn't terrible and was then dropped for the first test of the home Ashes series in 2017/18. He was effectively replaced by Shaun Marsh who had failed completely in India. Maxwell also seemed to not have a great relationship with Steve Smith, who was captain at the time.
Renshaw was also dropped after that India tour when he came back and just could buy a decent score in First-Class cricket. He was also publicly white anted by Justin Langer, who was the WA coach at the time and actively pushed to have Cameron Bancroft replace him. It wasn't surprising that when he got the Australian gig that Langer pushed had for both Marsh brothers and Bancroft to play in the test team. All three have proven conclusively they are not test quality.
I think Renshaw is good enough to still have a substantial Australian test career. Would be surprised if Maxwell gets another shot.

crikey was it 2017 ! where has 3 years gone
Bit tough getting a hundred and then only 3 more tests.
Shaun Marsh has come back from the dead more often than Keith Richards. Just doesn't seem to have the mental aptitude for test cricket.
Bancroft had a terrible technique. You wont succeed in tests if you hover on the crease all the time.

I think Renshaw could be one of those guys where T20 has been good for them in that it should free him up to play some shots in the longer form of the game.

I think because of bubbles, etc, any replacement player would have to be in the current squad, which rules out anyone playing BBL. Current squad is:

Australia Test squad: Tim Paine (c), Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Michael Neser, James Pattinson, Will Pucovski, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Wade, David Warner

Kurtis Patterson should be in for Wade, he played well in his couple of tests, was a bit crap he got dropped.
Think he is injured at the moment though.

can’t believe we aren’t declaring right now!

Got injured last year. Has been playing this year but has been low on form. He's probably back in the queue now.

I like Bumrah and he is a very good bowler.

However I maintain his action is very suspect, as was Tait's who also straightened elbow on delivery.

Finally I got a side on view I've been looking for.

Thanks to Murali he is allowed 15 degrees.
Possibly more than that from these screenshots. It is hard to tell whether he fully extends at point of release though. Ig he goes from 25 degrees and release at 10 that is legal.

You would think somebody in the crowd saw something
Happened the other day too. Didn’t find who it was either. With the masks, it maybe a bit harder to find the source.

Really disappointing that there is always an individual or small group that seems to do this.

Ok that's good knowledge.

Again, I'm not saying to ban him as cricket needs top players and I love quick bowling and he seems a good bloke.

Just feel it's a very suss action imo.

Seems like an action that will be very hard on his body.

Who was on here in the last day or so saying they didn't think CameronGreen was any good?

When I used to sling it with the straightened wrist and straightening of the arm, it felt like I was chucking it.
