Has it though? Pitches played far too true. There was very little deterioration, in fact they seemed to get better, and that’s not how Test cricket is meant to be. I found the series pretty boring because of this.

Lyon turned a few square and Patty was bowling 90mph leg breaks at one stage. The pitches were fine.

They kept putting up Pujara's average for the series (32ish) compared to the last time they toured here, without also putting up how many balls he faced. He batted for half the series and it was the difference in the last two tests.

Anybody who thinks badly of Mohammed Siraj, is a tool.

He's the first man at Green's aid, after getting smashed in the face. (By the way, how tough is Green?)

Magnificent series win, by India. As a proud Aussie, I'm just as proud of India, and test cricket.

Gotta agree, the discipline they showed to bat out both those final days shows remarkable resolve, we could learn a lot from that.

Kallis my favourite of all time. Built like a brick shithouse but carried himself like a gentleman.

I'd disagree he bowled mediums. First half of his career he was touching 140km.
Jacques Kallis is the most criminally under rated player to have ever played the game.

His all round record is extraordinary, the only guy who even compares is Sobers.

Sobers isn't close to Kallis in modern cricket.

Sobers batted against trundlers at 6 or 7 not modern age quicks like Kallis.

No comparison.

McGrath and Warne RIP through them in no time.

Lyon is a massive fraud.

McGrath ten times the bowler Starc is.

The latter misses his wife more than playing cricket ffs

I wouldn't have picked anyone who hasn't looked like taking a wicket or even containing runs all series. So that would be Lyon and Starc. Next question?

Add Langer, Wade, Harris & Paine.

Warner is also on notice.

I know it isn't a popular opinion but Green, for all the carry on is still yet to take a wicket. He took a while to make a few runs as well. Without those couple of scores he's on thin ice as well. He might be a decent talent but was he really ready for test cricket at this point in his development?

My best 3 cricketers I've seen

1 Hadlee..431 wickets in 86 tests, plus handy batsmen. Had it all and im bias but dont care
2. Warne ..Changed the game. Best spinner I've seen. He was incredible
3 Tendulker. Say no more. Just scored runs for fun

I really really wanted to say Kallis as a great package, but like the others more !

impossible task only saying 3

What a fantastic effort from India !
The Aussie quicks will be sick to the back teeth with Pujara, but he won the series for them. Not for the volume of runs but the way he drained the bowlers.

great series..and Australia will need to make some changes. Been a few players that have papered over the cracks for the rest of the team. Smith, Labuschange, and Cummins have held that side together for the last couple of years (perhaps Hazelwood too). Not enough A grade talent after that. Lyon and Starc were very very disappointing.
Imagine if you took Smith and Cummins out of the Aussie side for this test to match the loss of Kohli and Bumrah for India too !!

I always rate Tino Best as a bloke whose record doesn't reflect his skill. He was a legitimately good bowler, and having chatted with him a few times, appears to be an excellent fast bowling coach.

Just on him, a favourite memory was the last ball of an Aus vs WI ODI where Windies were in the unusual position of knowing they had the win secured.

Best consulted with the captain, considered his options and paused for reflection before bounding in and beaming (IIRC) Clint McKay.

McKay had a "why are you doing this?" look like Han Solo when his kid was about to impale him.

There was absolutely no reason to do it which made it even better.
