Very brittle batting line up, if smith and lav are out, then the rest of the team won't be that far behind.

I've watched every game of Milne's this BBL season - he's the second best bowler in it for mine. His BBL10 stats don't really reflect how well he has bowled.

very good athlete. Doesn't seem to be bowling as quickly as he can, but bowling better because of that.
Hope it continues as he'd be handy in the NZ side

It's a hard bowling line-up to crack into at the moment. None of Boult, Southee, Wagner, or Jamieson seem likely to lose their test spots. Is he more of a short-form specialist?

What you really need and what NZ has never really had is a top-flight spin bowler.

Vettori wasn’t bad at his best, just IMO seemed well suited to one day

Average of 34 and strike rate of 80. Was a decent test bowler for a long time but never in the top echelon of spin bowlers.

Didnt realise he had those stats, thank you 👍
Just seemed to recall he bowled better in ODIs

Clarrie Grimmett went alright

Vettori stuffed his back when he was in his early 20's. Before then he really did turn the ball. But had to change his action and lost that ability. which was such a shame as he could have been a real generational finger spinner. But you are right, we really do need a good spinner. There's a guy who is only about 20 who plays for wgtn of Sri Lankan heritage ( sorry cant remember his name, but its got lots of letters) who actually opens the batting, but his bowling looks pretty good. But long way off tests at the moment

Yeah Milne will be a short form player to start with, but Southee and Wagner aren't spring chickens so could be in the test mix in the next year or 2.

Do we know who was the Aussie player who was sneaking toasted sangos onto the field in his pocket for mid session snackies?

it would have to be a batter.

David Warner so he can have greasy fingers for shining the ball.

I would like to know what Starc's bowling averages before and after sandpaper-gate are.

Opinions of players are affected by recency bias, and given Starc always performs way better at the start of a series and then fades badly, he didn't get enough credit for what's been a very good international career.

Should just play him in tests one and two, though.

He's a fair bit of an all or nothing type bowler too. He has series where he averages 15 with a strike rate of 30, then others like the one against India where those numbers blow out to 40 and 70.

Bad bowlers don't take 250 test wickets with a sub 50 strike rate.

Themanbun yeah Sammie is bit upset but umpiring not an easy gig.

It's pretty easy on TV slow motion replays from a million angles and hotspot etc etc but out there it's tough.

He heard a noise and thought out. He got it wrong but umps shouldn't be so crucified for doing their best imo.

to be honest I think Starc has underperformed a little considering the physical gifts and talent he has. Tall left armers who bowl 150 k and swing it. Hell he could have been a great. Just don't think he has the cricketing brain of the very best bowlers

This is why they should have DRS in the BBL.
