Yeah true, but I guess they normally field at slip and can get some rest.
Be interesting to see how he goes. Hes certainly got the IQ to make a good fist of it

It doesn’t really matter. Once we get Pucovski and Green going, Carey replaces the worst DRS skipper in cricketing history and we replace Lyon the fraud with Swepson - we’ll be near enough to unbeatable and will effectively be self-skippered.

Warner
Pucovski
Marnus
Smith
Green
Carey
Starc
Cummins
Richardson
Swepson
Hazelwood

Would never lose a game.

well I cant see you losing a game this ashes series. Pretty weak English side.
Paine should go I agree. No point having a 36 year old keeper who doesn't score enough runs and has hardly played lately.

Did you see Blundell's dismissal ?. Pitched a fraction short of a length from a spinner, and hits the stumps about an inch up

would have got Bradman that one !

we wouldn't want to be chasing more than 200 tops in the last innings.

Is there actuallly anything resembling " grass " on the wicket ?

Its not actually that bad looking. Had some grass on it and its seamed a touch all game.
The main factor making batting difficult is that its very slow and the odd ball is going underground. Its also turning a fair bit from the good areas of the pitch.
So hard to score quickly and sooner or later you'll get a ball with your name on it.

interesting to watch though

ps looking fwd to the Ashes series. England has some ok quicks. But just cant see them scoring enough runs.
Aussie very dependent on Smith Labuschange and Warner to score runs, with the later being pretty wobbly for a fair while now. Had an ok 20/20 so that would have given him some confidence.
You'd think the Aussie quicks will decide the series though

Where's the next India v Kiwis test being played? Odds on it turns square from halfway through the first session wherever it is.

Had to have a little smile when l saw Ravindra and Patel as the two batsmen to hold out lndia.
me too.
Ravindra was born here and Patel came when he was a kid, so not cricketing imports

Will be a lot more players of Asian origin coming through. We have a big Indian/Sri Lankan population here now

Mumbai

I actually like watching it when its turning even though it doesn't suit us !
Our spinners will be better for the run. They haven't played much cricket before the first test

Was gunna say the other day it's a shame we have never had a gun Vietnamese player across the slash VFL / AFL. Huge population here but suppose the pathway was never there back in the 70's & 80's. Easier for the current crop of players of African descent.

Shame.

I agree. Got so much going for them. Brave, quick , skilled so you'd think AFL would suit them.

So Paine resigned because he became aware that an incident which happened in 2017(?) was going to be made public. And it was allegedly going to be made public because of a Newscorp investigation which uncovered it.
Irrespective of the rights or wrongs of Paine's actions, how long have Newscorp known about it? And did they deliberately wait until 3 weeks before the Ashes begins to threaten to go public with it?
Yes its a bit odd that it took so long and makes you wonder if there are other agenda's involved.

Swepson?

His front arm might as well be painted on for all it contributes to his action, why Warney seems to be infatuated with him is beyond me.

Tanveer Sangha is a better leggie and he’s only played two first-class games.
