So we are into the last day of the first Test against Sri Lanka. Something like 2 and a half sessions have passed and Lyon has failed to take a wicket. My Grand Ma spins more in her grave then this Turkey can spin a ball. I'll give him Jeff. :stern look

Siddle: 5-54. Another big hearted effort.
Lyon: 2-76. Kept it very tight. Unlucky not to get more.

Starc: 1-104. Loose.

Lyon is a spud. Hopefully that was his last game.... if he plays a single test in England, I'd be shocked.

Starc is a superstar.
Cummins, Pattinson and Siddle the other 3 and we have some chance in the Ashes.

Yeah had my doubts about Starc but he really put in a brilliant effort today, Siddle as well.

Honestly didnt think we had a hope of dismissing the tail when they were 5 for and the weather turned.

He did bowl some corkers mate!

Just needs to do it in more sessions - seems to have a huge divide between best and worst.

As for the Siddle knockers - best stick to footy, NFI.

Yeah that was my biggest gripe with Starc, when he was off he was utter rubbish. But when he's firing he can rip through a side quickly.

Wade is on thin ice now that T.Paine is starting to find some form again. His century the other day though was pretty impressive!

So our fast bowler stocks are looking very impressive at the moment! Who do we take to England out of:

Starc
Johnson
Siddle
Cummins
Pattinson
Hilfenhaus
Bird
Hazelwood
Cutting

Where to now with Watson? If he keeps breaking down should he stop bowling and concentrate on his batting again?

Who fills the void left by Hussey in the middle order?

Also what is with the one day side?? Can't believe Haddin is there and the likes of Hussey ad Warner are out!

Watson's body isn't up to Test cricket. He either needs to play T20/ODI or Tests - he just physically cannot do both. Stuff that giving up either batting or bowling, he's an all-rounder and not good at either one to be an International Test player solely as a batsman or bowler.

Not going to the G on Friday. Unless they bring back the full strength beer, as well as Siddle and Wade.

Not Cummins, Hazelwood, Cutting. Maybe Hilfy, but I feel Bird has gone past him. Pattinson is a risk, but one worth taking.

Either am I! Was really keen on it until I seen Haddin in there over Paine and Wade.

What amazes me is how some of these tailenders get through to test cricket level with zero ability with the bat. The Sri Lankan tail begins straight after the keeper. They're all #11 standard (if that).

Chris Martin. He bats at #12.

Anyone who remembers Jim Higgs would disagree KR. He was like those cardboard figures you see in sports stores.

Jimmy looked like Bradman compared to B. S Chandrasakher. At least Jimmy pushed his batting avg above 5.
