Great match huh? I would have gone if not over here. But who the hell scheduled it to go head-to-head with North v Hawthorn? Bad planning by one of them. My remote had a workout flicking between the two!

But onto other things

1. Can anyone please tell me what the numbers on the Aussie hats mean? I thought 'highest score' first, but noticed Glenn McGrath's was 113, so I thought maybe it was the number of 1-dayers they'd played, but Gilly's number was bigger than S Waughs.... Anyone know? It's driving me nuts

2. Where can I get a list of the Aussie players 'walk out songs'? Pretty cute idea, as long as it doesn't get out of hand. Might help with that Inspirational music topic too... I guess it's the cricket equivalent of running out to your club song.

Thanks, EF.

The numbers on the helmuts are what number person they are to play for australia in one dayers. Thats why Gilchrists number is bigger than steve waughs cos waugh has been around a lot longer. So McGrath is the 113th player to play for australia in one dayers get what i mean.

The numbers on the players' one-day caps was a great idea first instituted by Steve Waugh at the '99 World Cup. Because there can be a tendency for one-day internationals to run together and become meaningless, Waugh decided to give the players a sense of a tradition in one-day cricket by emphasing that it is also a privilege to wear the one-day cap, not just the baggy green.

As Jod said, each number signifies what number player that person is among those to have represented Aus in one-dayers.

Another great Steve Waugh initiatve.
