Judging by his reaction, that must be the first catch that has ever gone down off Stuart Broad's bowling. And it had to happen now, and a crucial point in an Ashes Test match. What luck! Those cruel and fickle Gods!

It's a beautiful thing.

Labushagne will play how ever many more tests and will never get this lucky again lol.

Weird. Nicked one and they didn't shell it.

That wasn't far away from jaw, teeth and tongue going separate ways.

Cummins bowled to many short to Archer. He should maybe try a yorker in amongst all that.

The other classy alternative is to overstep by half a meter and bowl a full bunger at their head. Obviously a one off affair, but has been used to good effect in the past.

Ah yeah the full binga.... I mean bunga

Seaming pitch, decides to go with no slips against a bloke who wore one on the grill five minutes ago. Innovative captaincy...

Labushagne been flawless though certainly no chances I can remember

Maybe I'm being harsh. Clearly Root has just accepted that they are not going to glove one in the cordon so why bother. He'd make an awesome park cricket captain!

Yeah not alot happening in the slips cordon this match but I reckon a slog to square leg or deep point will get 90% of bats here.

Bit of a shame to end it that way. Worst part of it is he's likely just left Lyon stranded with a Test hundred on the cards.

You can't bowl there to Josh Hazlewood. Let that be a lesson to you all...

I would declare before any else cops one on the helmet

It'd be a good idea, but more towards getting Roy and Burns out there for an awkward half an hour before lunch. Last thing Jason Roy needs at the moment is a rough little 30 minute period where he's got nothing to gain.

Edit: Moot point now, but that is a very convenient time to lose the last wicket.
