It'd be a good idea, but more towards getting Roy and Burns out there for an awkward half an hour before lunch. Last thing Jason Roy needs at the moment is a rough little 30 minute period where he's got nothing to gain.

Edit: Moot point now, but that is a very convenient time to lose the last wicket.
Well Lyon didn't seem to want to hang around .

Jesus Chapelli is dribbling. Talking about hooking technique against short ones is fine, but these blokes wearing the ball in the face, back of the head, etc aren't missing hook shots.

And Jos Buttler in to open... fair go Roy needs to bat lower down, but to bring up the other one-day batsman and get him to bat his "natural game" - isn't that exactly what the dropkick Roy is doing? May as well send Leach in again to see if he can replicate his Ireland Test heroics. I mean if you're going to accept being one down early doors, may as well make it your number 11 bat.

The TV is saying Roy is opening with Burns

Ah, TV. It never lies, most of the time.

Maybe not paired up for much longer. That one on the gloves would have tickled.

So do we have a quick pop at how many balls Roy faces before he gets out? Nearest to the pin wins love and admiration.

I'll take a stab at 14 of the finest.

Would have preferred another over from Hazlewood rather than trying to be clever and bowling an over from a spinner when there's not much turn just to get a second over from a quick at the other end.

Agree it's not like times an issue. Could have put all the men around the bat and built up pressure on them

18 balls for Roy and probably the last shot he ever plays in test cricket

I salute the man. He exceeded my expectations (by 4 balls).
