I was thinking 1988 when it was speculated he drove a yellow Toyota. He then bought a white Hyundai at the end of his DUI charge. Police alleged Lance may have driven the vehicle under DUI suspension when Sarah went missing.

Lances parents had a petrol station on Stirling Highway near Eric st ? (Not certain of location).

I felt his prior ownership of Yellow Toyota drew all the heat. Then picking up an under cover officer on Stirling Highway who was dropped off in Glyde st.

I met Nello. We did a couple of days work together.

Williams cruises quietly out of the street and back onto the darkened Stirling Highway and steals a sideways glance at the woman sitting next to him. She is attractive. Stupid. So stupid, to get into a stranger's car while a serial killer is lurking around. She says little on the drive, listening as he makes small talk, staring ahead and crossing and uncrossing her legs. He steals another sideways glance. There's something wrong. He senses it. She is incredibly nervous.
The street where she has asked to be dropped off is just ahead. 'Just here will do, thanks,' she says, her fingers already on the door handle. It is deserted and dark; not a soul in sight. He looks at her again. She is so stupid.
'Look, I don't want to drop you off here. It's not safe.' She doesn't listen, smiles at him as she quietly gets out of his car.
'Thanks, I'll be fine,' she says again, and disappears into the shadows.
The decoy police officer flown in from interstate has done her job well. 's**t,' she says when she gets back into the squad car parked around the corner. 'There's something very weird about him. He wasn't concerned that I was walking alone out late while there was a serial killer around. He was so detached. All he did was talk about himself the whole trip.'
They decide to take Williams out."

"He is curb crawling again. It is two months after the decoy, 3 am in the quiet hush between midnight and dawn. Sunday morning, 5 April 1998. Williams is following a woman walking south from the Stirling Highway – the same route Ciara Glennon had taken; following her as she strides into the southern part of the Claremont suburbs, deeper into the darkened streets. He has driven past her numerous times, not braking or slowing down but accelerating out of her line of sight, doubling up around the back streets and approaching her again from the rear.
The Tactical Response Group officers watch him, their radar primed. Something is about to give.
They pounce, pointing loaded Heckler and Koch sub-machine guns at Williams's head. 'Stop the car! Don't move! You are under arrest!' Terror grips Williams and a warm rush of urine is soaking through his underpants, seeping through to stain his trousers.
'What have I done?' he stammers.
Officer Nello Iopolo orders him out of the car. 'Stand still. Don't move.'"

I don't think it's reliable at all which is why it should stay off the trial thread. Things will get all muddled if it's referred to constantly.

Oh thats right, there was a CCC investigation. Someones wife ended up dead in the process.

The husband ended up being names as the one and only suspect, who promptly sued the WA Police Force for defamation after the whole case being thrown out of court.

Exactly as what I opined. Vacuous dribble. She expected to get a lot more then people started pulling out of meetings with her then she filled her manuscript with air bubbles. I cannot believe personally she included in her book information by anonymous bloggers. When I got to that part of the book I was in a WTF moment. She started off the book with way too much of her own personal insight.

And Lance had no involvement whatsoever. I felt so much for Lance and his family.The treatment of him shows exactly what can happen when total focus without evidence is used coupled with mates in the media and the pounding of fists on the chests like tarzan. Where are those same cops now? Were they held to account? The media also need some very deep soul searching.

Not completely across the legalities of this but it's in my understanding that as soon as a police officer quits the force any case against them for misconduct ceases immediately. This would most likely apply to any other separate cases that are raised in the future with CCC after resignation.

We saw an example of this with Caporn who resigned from his position as Assistant Police Commissioner during the mallard CCC investigation, to "take up a position with FESA."

Something seriously wrong in that loop hole.
I'm not sure what legal process/action or avenue the family of Lance Williams would need to take in order to get some form of justice for what their now deceased son and the entire family had to endure, but I hope if there is a way for them to do it, they go in hard!

He didn't 'insert' himself. He too as a valid witness that too was hounded. So too his landlord Mr Weygers. I wonder if the person or persons who fed the cops with spurious and vexacious claims will be charged with anything?
