roger james from pt adelaide would of had to be the msot underated player... jesus that guy was a workhorse..hard as nails, skillful. gave 100 per cent week in and week out and if it wasnt for him they wouldnt of won that flag which they shouldnt of anyway.
if he wanst playing in that prelim it would of been over at quarter time.
Loved him!
Stumpy little legs about 9 inches long and a head about 4 foot high. One of those guys who wouldn't get looked at much if he went through the draft now but very smart, hard & consistent footballer

Mine is Robert Harvey because he never ever ever gets used in the same breath as buckley and voss when in fact i believe he was better

Haha that's an interesting point. Do people call him a champion just because he played for so long? Thought he was a great player.

Someone mentioned Daniel Cross before, i'll go with him as well. Sensational and gutsy player. Jude Bolton as well, does all the dirty work for us and would never shirk a challenge. Bleeds red and white.

He won more Brownlows than any of Hird, Voss or Buckley, yet they are rated higher.

Confusing.

i wouldnt rate the brownlow to highly if i were you.
harvey was a gun great fitness and longevity but probably didnt have the flashes of brilliance that the other players had.

have to say presti was fairly underrated in his playing days

If I were you I'd be pissed off about Swan losing though, so your opinion of the Brownlow is probably more biased than mine.

Anyway, in the 1990's the Brownlow held a much more importance, and at that Harves won both the MVP and the Brownlow in 97'

dont know about whether i was pissed off about that mate, i really dont rate the brownlow what so ever. mvp is definately the one i watch out for. still pissed about gf2? :thumbsu::thumbsu:

And as for the 1990's harvey only won one legitimately the other was by default so in essence he won (rightfully) the same as bucks and voss. if you want to start a list about who is best out of the three, then do it. i doubt you will see to many votes for harver

sam mitchell owns this thread, not so much by the public but most definately by the media and so called afl experts. The best clearance player of the past 5-6 yrs, has been consistently good for that period of time as well and has never been all australian. An absolute disgrace.

You get suspended you don't win, it's not a hard concept to grasp.
Harves will have 2 Brownlows in the Record books

You don't rate the Brownlow NOW, but I'm sure that before this years you were gunning for Swan to win.

Not sure about this.

Underperformed for quite a while then broke out with a stunning season last year.

Was rated very highly as the season progressed but probably dosn't get more media attention because he hasn't yet backed it up.

Delivers again in '11 and you will hear commentators and footy watchers sing his praises.
