Gees, I like him, he can get the ball but crap he is a poor kick. Really both his handballs and kicks lack penetration and impact. At the moment I would take one Josh Kelly kick over 4 Cripps disposals.

Cripps' kicking is his weakness but sometimes he's capable of some absolutely beautiful passes like we saw on a couple occasions tonight. It's a strange one, and I've also seen him go nuts and roost goals from 60m off one step. It's like when he's willing himself to make something happen and isn't thinking about it too much he's capable of some magic even by foot, but other times can really struggle.

Anyway, don't care too much, love him. Just wish we had more help for him.

He misses targets because when he disposes of he either:
  • Has someone hanging off him
  • Is spent after winning his own pill
When he gets a handball receive (which is rarely because he has NO midfield help) his kicking is fine, more often than not well weighted rather than spearing and low, but he is capable of the latter.

Does seem inconsistent in front of goal though. Not Casboult/Bont levels but there is some mental stuff going on

Pretty good stat on Foxtel

Richmond v Carlton

Cripps - 36 disposals, 25 contested, 4 score involvements
Martin - 32 disposals, 17 contested, 13 score involvements
Ease up, you're comparing him to one of the most creative players the game has seen.

Martin also has Premiership winning team mates on the end of his touches, Cripps doesn't have much right now.
