Cross anyday. Mitchell gets tagged, Cross doesn't. Cross gets alot of uncontested marks and has a high tackle count. Mitchell's a great player also but he has about 3 or 4 shockers a year. Cross on the other hand is ultra consistant.
IIRC 3 of Mitchell's midfield teammates are suspended for Round One (Lewis, Hodge, Crawford). Mitchell will get a lot of attention. I would've thought, generally speaking, that Cross is the higher scorer anyway (not entirely sure, just a guess).
The fact that Boyd played ahead of him after his return also didn't help. His game time dropped to about 75%. There's no doubt that he will be starting in the centre sqaure alongside Westy and Cooney come Round 1.

The reason for that was because he wasn't match fit. The 6 or 8 week lay off meant when he came back he was lacking match fitness which is super important for a player like Cross.
Agree he will be an important player for the Dogs next season.
Daniel Cross played 15 games last season. His value won't be cheaper because he missed some games but because his average was lower after he got injured.
