Cross is easily the more consistant player. Statistically, he's been miles ahead of Kerr over the last 2 seasons. Statistics aren't particularly reliable in our game, but they are accurate enough at showing when a player goes missing, and Kerr goes missing an awful lot, but at his best he is brilliant and can destroy sides. Cross isn't really a gamebreaker like Kerr, but is a more than solid contributor almost every week.
Last season he was in the top 3 for disposals, top 2 for handballs, top 10 for tackles and kicked 2 less goals than Kerr. Kerr is a far flashier player though and is capable of magic, hence he gets noticed a lot more by fans and umpires.
I picked Kerr over Cross, but there isn't a whole lot between them as far as I'm concerned. They're very very different types of players though. If Kerr can get some consistancy into his game then he'll be a clearly better player in my eyes, but as far as I'm concerned, many of you are basing your judgement on a few brilliant games. Cross is severely underrated and has been a very very valuable player these last two seasons.
Also, Cross is less likely to punch people in the gooleys.
