One thing I am interested in from those watching this thread - will having Dmac on be the difference in having s listen - or not?

I've seen him before, oozes class, self assured, a star. He's like the Scott Pendlebury of interviewing. But no, I rarely care what players have to say in a public forum. Tell you what, once you've settled on the questions, PM me and I'll answer them and we can see how close I get.

But kudo's to the show fir getting him. I'd probably listen if you got Justin Reid though. Couldn't be worse than puff shit that AA serves up.

Good to see the thread back on track.

It is absolutely fantastic the access the club is providing to us, and we want to demonstrate that we're a group that can be trusted and respected.

I'll think of some questions soonish.

Yeah, its a fine line we tread here. The last thing we want is to turn out a cookie cutter interview that mirrors all the fluff served up in the media. At the same time, we have to be mindful to respect the privilege of getting club and player involvement in an amateur fan based podcast.

At the very least, having players on gives us a means to hear from them in perhaps a more laid back fashion, asking questions that may not get covered in mainstream media. We'll keep it light, respectful and try to gain an insight into David that you may not otherwise get. See how we go :)

Competition for spots is tight at the AFC especially with a healthy playing group.

The last 7 games of the 2015 season for you were either played in the SANFL, as the Sub or as an emergency, what have you worked on personally during the off season to solidify your spot in the 22?

Good question, but FFS don't open with it.

How much internal chat is there each year ( from club and amongst players ) discussing where the list is at and how important it is to keep the list together ??!!

Then how does it feel that moment when you find out a key player in the set up has decided to leave ? Eg Gunston Tippett etc

Then what does the group do to pull together and refocus ?

Mad props to DMac for even agreeing to the podcast!

1. Luke Brown was on the Crowcast last year. Did he give you any tips prior to today?

2. Which of the new Adelaide Crow draftees and rookies in the last two years have caught your attention and why?

3. What role can Crows fans expect to see from you under Pyke’s new gameplan, and who do you see as your main rivals for a spot in the starting 22?

4. Many regard your Round 3 performance against Melbourne last year as one of your best games for the Crows. However, many on the Crows BF board also feel that this isn't a standard that you've reached often enough in your career with Adelaide. How would you rate your own performance in 2015, and what steps have you taken in the preseason to improve on this?

5. Wikipedia’s entry on David Mackay states that in school you were captain of Hindley House and Todd Goldstein was your vice-captain. Is this something you've ever brought up with Goldstein when you've played against North Melbourne?

This was basically going to be my question. Something about why he felt he was out of the best 22 late last year and how he intends to improve coming into this year.

But you've put it a bit more eloquently.

If you can, ask him who is on the selection committee!

Also

How has the AFC's player retention for recruits from Victoria changed over your journey?

How have you found the move to Adelaide Oval?

What are your plans for after football? Study? Adventure?

What do you do in your off-time?

What were the team's thoughts/reactions on Rutten winning the inaugural Phil Walsh Award? Any chatter about bringing Truck back to AFC after he finishes his stint at Richmond?

Absolutely. I think that you guys have great analysis and talk but having a player describe stuff is awesome.

Dmac, What do you think that you need to do to get your game to the next level?

If the number of replies and views in this thread so far are anything to go by, then this episode will be the biggest by far this season.
