If your crowd is full of old grannies it's never gonna be loud, I get told to be quiet when I go to Crows games, and I was barracking for you guys!!!!!!!
"Shooosh be quiet or I will get a red coat"...

Ten years time Crows crowds will be rocking...;):D

They did get a red coat...

Just teach em not to clap when the ball goes outta bounds the opponents kick a point and a Crow takes a uncontested mark.

Also tell em to stop saying BALL every tackle :)

I reckon they will get louder once the current crop passes away :)

I actually thought the crowd atmosphere was much better at the West Coast prelim of 2006. But then I was in the grand stand where noise tends to get held in and circulate. The boos for the eagles were deafening at the start of the match.

I love the atmosphere at footy park, gotta be much better than that at port matches and its better than many footy matches I have been to around australia, Sydney supporters are too tame and "nice" brisbane don't pack out the stadium enough, when I last went to Telstra Dome to see the Crows Bombers it seemed really artificial.

The Melbourne match round 22 last year had a great atmosphere, especially when clarky kicked the miracle goal and the crows rediscovered their form as was the port final the year before, that was amazing.

Unfortunately this year we played a very stale and boring style of game and are starting to really lack the crowd pleasers, Mcleod rarely kicks goals, Roo barely played, Burton wasn't himself for most of the year, Mattner no longer does his chase and tackles, Hentschell wasn't there, Basset also wasn't around much to spit the chewy, even bode's attack on the ball is great, thats why everyone loved Gill, and every time the ball went near him you'd hear cries of "Gill" and hes only played a handful of games.

The fans want to see a few more crowd pleasers, a few blokes who have a bit of personality and really have a bit of flair, get the crowd up and running and it really helps, unfortunately we lack them now. Modra, the Jarman brothers, Weideman, Rehn, Bickley, Hart, Smart, Robran, Bond, Vardy are all no longer here and were great crowd pleasers.

Edwards, Goodwin, Rutten, Bock, Reilly, Thompson etc don't really fit this bill whilst being top class and very valuble players. This is one reason I'm a little disapointed we didn't chase Fevola, whilst he does have his problems he keeps the crowd entertained and can do the impossible.

We must and I think Neil Craig will, try to create a much more exciting game plan and maybe try and recruit some crowd pleaser types, not just the solid competitors, give us a reason to want to watch the footy again and get excited about it. Tippet and Sellar could quite possible fill this bill as does Gill, perhaps Edwards or Mcleod up forward could create a little more excitement.

When I went to the round 1 game vs Essendon the atmosphere was made very good by the Dons supporters and they made so much noise. The weather was perfect that day. You look at the Crows fans, they were so lifeless even when we started to make a comeback in the final quarter. I tried my best to urge on the crowd around me but no one listened to me. I was right in front of Scott Lucas' 7th and final goal 50m out, southern end on western side, that bought out the biggest cheer of the day, disgraced by our peformance I also cheered that goal with a few claps. The R20 game vs the Bulldogs was another game I saw this year and I must say it was pretty quiet at times, but we won that game so yeah!. When Nick Gill snapped from a tight angle and goaled the place exploded.

The year before in R2 2006 in a game vs West Coast when Ben Hart played his 300th the atmosphere was simply incredible as the Crows made a huge final quarter comeback with like 6 goals in a row from 32 down to lead by 5 before collapsing in the last 3 minutes. I remember it was deafening when McLeod kicked that goal inside the last 10 minutes. I couldn't hear myself scream.

I went to see West Coast v. Crows in (I think) round 2 this year and I was really amazed at the way you give so much sh*t to your own team

I've had some pretty ordinary experiences with the Blues, Hawks and Dogs fans too. But it truly just depends on who you are sitting around. Sometimes you will sit nearby some great people and other times you will get morons. Every club has them, truly is very hard to judge.

On the atmosphere at AAMI though I don't see it as all that bad when I've been there. Not many problems with everyone supporting the same side. The Preliminary Final last year against the Eagles had a wonderful atmosphere. Was sensational whent he side came out and at many times throughout that game.

This is very true. But just for the record, had some awful encounters with Dogs fans myself :thumbsd:

To be truthful I have most times with Dogs fans. Not sure if I'm just unlucky or not but been seated next to some pretty ordinary supporters. Early this season one threatened to hit a Tigers supporters in front of his two kids for cheering. Was digusting.

Thats just disgraceful.

I must have been seated infront of some pretty average fans too, because they were swearing off their heads the entire match and it was in an area populated by mostly families. :thumbsd::thumbsd:
