Further to the "Champion of your bay" initiative by the club, that I wrote about here

http://www.asthecrowsfly.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=158

According to the latest Members' Update
Interested members can meet Membership Manager David Couch at 6:40pm in the Crows Shed (near the supporters group BBQ) this Friday night prior to the Essendon game.
Alternatively you can call David Couch at the club on 8440 6666

Might be a good opportunity, to find out a bit more about the club's thinking on this and make a contribution.

I won’t be able to make it tonight – but would someone ask a question for me?

I want to know if AFC would look into creating a “gold Members” bay in the Members stand – That is getting a whole heap of Crows Gold Members who want to make some noise and giving them a bay so they can sit toghether and actually make some noise.

I realise it would be subject to appropriate support but raising the idea might start something

Not every gold member spends the entire game screaming their head off. Conversly, not every general public ticket buyer is as quiet as a mouse.

WTF ?

no :D:D:D:D - but it would be nice to allow them to have an area where members wanting to yell and scream can sit together

You were asking for an area where gold members can sit together. I was pointing out that not every gold member spends the entire match screaming their head off. Would be very surprised if this area was any different to to any other bay in the stadium.

Thanks Captain Obvoius – do you normally go around making the most obvious comments ?

My point is that it would be good for people who did want to do this to have a bay dedicated to them – considering the crows want to increase participation

If he's captain obvious, does that make you Suggestion Boy?

He makes a valid point. Your bay would end up quieter than anywhere else. Probably turn into a knit fest. I find its the general public who often yell their heads off more than anything.

dude you have both missed my point,

so you set aside a bay - i only called it Gold Member bay cause most people who are Cat 1 are also gold members (crows fans of course)

I didn;t realise the lever I had to explain however I will try

Like the "afterburner" parties that the club has you target people between 18-35 and try and get them involoved and explain what we are after

once you have a few people keen then you try and arrange something

so no it wouldn't turn into a "knit Fest" because we wouldn't be targeting those people

FFS is it that bloody hard

tend to agree with this.

I'm a Cat. 2 Gold Member, and I try hard to shout out as much as I can, but I tend to feel a bit foolish when everyone around me sits there like stuffed dummies.

I sit upstairs in the balcony (reserved seats) and the last few weeks there's been a group of girls who get the Adelaide chant going a little bit around from me. I always join in, but I'm a solitary participant.

What I'm saying is that I'd love to sit with a group of fellow members, regardless whether they're Gold, or Piebald, as long as they bloody well BARRACK.

BTW, I'm in my fifties, and quite like to knit. Does that mean anything? Does it affect my ability to barrack? ;)
