Why? I can think of a lot of people who I wouldn't want having Collingwood as their number 1 team.

I would think IF you post here you would have Collingwood as your number 1 Team. Not Everyone but a Majority

If was in Australia I would go to the city game hands down.

Semi final against the filth (Victory) over a regular home and away season game. If we were playing in the finals then it would be a different story.

If I can get a live steam of the a league I will watch it if not the Pies it is. We are going to beat Geelong anyway, they are cooked.

Yep.
You're not considered side by side if you actively support a sport who's stated aim is to destroy our competition, and by extension our mighty club.
Please.

It's ok to support teams equally in different sports.

There's no aim to "destroy" and there's no reason they can't co-exist.

What an ignorant statement to make

As much as we on here are all passionate Collingwood supporters, some of us have other interests outside of Collingwood. I go for the Pies and Melbourne Victory. Get over it if you dont like soccer.....many people do so suck it up.

For the record I am going to the Collingwood game and will be closely monitoring my phone for the soccer scores

I'll be going to the Pies game. Die hard victory and Collingwood member, but this game is more important to Collingwood so I'll go to that. We're only playing Melbourne city so I'm not going to miss much except a public training session really.

Then why was Muscat Named Captain of the First Decade Side by the A-League Players his Peers? Thoughts about that mattys123

TD that's because despite Muscat making some horrible tackles on the field he was still a very good player and a fantastic leader, he's comfortably the best captain the A League has seen in it's 10 years. Muscat as a captain cops a bad rap from opposition supporters in the same way that Maxwell did for us, people focus on your limitations (Maxy) or discrepancies (Muscat) and label you a shit leader when that's the furthest thing from the truth.

I would think IF you post here you would have Collingwood as your number 1 Team. Not Everyone but a Majority

That's not the case for everyone, plenty of people have other sporting interests outside of footy and usually people don't mind that, but when that other interest is Soccer people seem to get offended by the notion that people could appreciate two great sports.

I'll be at the Victory game because it's a semi final and it's a derby, there's much more at stake and the atmosphere will be amazing; it's a no brainer.

Half our billion members don't turn up every week, they can pick up the slack the next fortnight. We've got a dunny seat to win.

We have too many members that don't show up, now I know why. I wish we just had 30k that showed up each week rather than this 72k that only 30 k are showing up for anyway.

Honestly it won't affect the crowds too much, it will only affect the public transport

I love the soccer. It might be because I was in the school diving team when I was younger. I also like it a lot because you can go and get something to eat while the game is on and there's a pretty good chance that you wont miss anything. Having said that, I sometimes prefer to just go down to the local karaoke night at the pub because it's a shorter trip home and you get to sing better songs.

Once again terrible scheduling from the A-League, but of course they'll come out and blame the AFL, just like they have over their grand final scheduling debacle (which is also 100% their own fault).

I'd love to go to both events but seeing as Victory earned the right to play a game at the Docklands, a terrible stadium, the choice is simple.

In one corner we have the MCG, the greatest sporting stadium on earth, easy to get to, easy to get out of, and we have Collingwood, the team I've supported since I was born.

In the other corner is Etihad, a stadium as cold, lifeless and as difficult to get in and out of as any in Australia, if not the world. And we have a Victory home game, a side so terrible that they made a thug their manager.

Yeah, Pies and the G it is, easily.

But still, Go City, at least they don't wear navy blue.
Some good points there.
I am also going to Etihad.
But not because of jumping ship.
And the game should be at AAMI, on Sunday, if the scheduling was fair. MV train there, and have some home games there.
MC gets a 5 day turnaround coming back from Wellington.

I have to question how this is even remotely threadworthy. It's just a given that anyone able to attend either game posting in this thread as a supporter of the Collingwood football club will be at the MCG on Friday night.
Very threadworthy, he just beat me to it.
