I think that our youngsters are very talented. The 2000 and 2001 group are extremely talented, and if they all have a good pre-season, and can mentally get right, they could all play a role (except meybe Foote), in our team next year. So it means basically that our entire team structure may change.

Why it hasn't changed this year is due to our players being comfortyable at senior level.

Lets take Cloke and Crowe. Crowe, physically, is more athletic and his style of player could fit into a team more easily than a larger, key position player like Cloke. Yet Cloke had the head right and made a huge impact.

In Crowe's case, I think it is a matter of confidence and making sure he realises he shouls be there.

There is no reason why Cloke should be considered aherad of Crowe on ability, it is the mental side.

Same with the other draftees. Just think, if the right coach can motivate them, the team can change drastically, and a lot more skill will come.

Cloke's attack on the ball and excellent contested marking might have as much to do with it as getting his 'head right'.

Crowe looks a good youngster but it's far too speculative to even put him on the same level as Cloke until we see him in a senior hitout. Brady Rawlings looks classy in the 2s.

Cloke looks to be much more physically developed than Crowe. The other thing that Cloke has in his favour is that he's very adept at reading the play - with the Pies, he was playing as their sweeper across the half back line.

Whilst accepting that Cloke has had an excellent first up season, let's see how he goes in about 2004/5. There have been plenty of young kids who have had great first up seasons only to disappear once the opposition coaches take notice and exploit their weaknesses. The same applies to our young players once they play their first full year on senior footy.

I am fairly sure Cloke played with Williamstown last year, so he is a year ahead in development.

Cloke is a no nonsense footballer. Tough, gutsy, and straight ahead. He floats across packs, is an excellent spoiler, and knows where to put himself to plug holes. He is a limited player though, and did struggle when forced to man up on a few occasions.

Crowe is more of an athlete, and his skill are twice as good as Cloke's. He isn't as tough or courageous, but I get the feeling confidence plays a large part here. I am still not convinced he is physical enough, or tall enough, to play FB, but he would will be very successful vs medum/tallish forwards.

HIs body is big enough to cope with senior footy, but I reckon it could be misleading. He looks physically ready to make it, but I doubt his body is ready for the hard and fast contact of the AFL.

No matter the size, if you are inexperienced, any senior footy contact will knock you about. The game is quicker and much much harder in the step up.

He has the talent to be much better than Cloke, but Cloke will always be a consistent, no bullsh1t player, who has great strengths. Crowe has done nothing as yet, and speculative comments are useless (as always).

I haven't seen enough of Croewe as I only managed to see about 4 MK games this year, as opposed to most of them in the past. The question I have for those that saw plenty of him: If he is not that tough, but rather skillfull, how could you explain the comaprison Pagan used between he and Archer?
In the games I saw him play, he looked more of a Scholl (not only by the number) than Archer.
Cloke did play for Williamstown for year. I remember him being BOG for them when they came back against us from 8 goals down, but we still beat them by a couple...

The comparison was most likely made through body type, but I doubt moneybags would have made it anyway. Bit of pressure on the bloke.

He is not a Glen Archer type (who is?), but only through his lack of maniac attack on the ball, man, anyone, everyone.

Hamilton scoffed at me when I suggested it, but I still reckon he could play as a ruck-rover.

Crowey will come on and be a very good FB.. you just watch:p:p:p:p

He will have grown a coupla cms (better have neway..!) and he will bulk up more..

And he will be better than Cloke!

Go Roos

I wasn't doing a direct comparison, but using the two as an axample of the difference the Roos have to many other teams.

Our youngsters are still very much treading water, whereas most other team's have recruits playing regular senior footy.

The point was that it is not a lack of skill or athletic ability that sets them apart, but something else, which is more than likely a mental attitude thing.

The thing to note is that unlike other teams, our list is not rated despite having some very talented kids. It means that if the right coach comes across, and the boys are willing to train hard, ouir side could change drastically next year as our youngsters, talent wise, would be superior to most of our senior list.

The young players have taken spots at other sides, ours haven't. If ours lift next year, it will be a very different side.

And Cloke is a second year player, he just debuted tis year.

Yawn!! Another load of MOTI bollocks!!

There are over 6.2 BILLION people on this earth...........we are all individuals. We are all differently made - no two are alike on this planet which makes us individuals.

We are not comparing a Holden Commodore to a Ford Falcon here, but two people.....individuals with different physical and genetical make-ups to anyone else in the world.

Just thought I had to say that.
