"Fremantle has upgraded Ryan Crowley to its senior list and the former rookie will go straight into the Dockers line up to face Geelong at Skilled Stadium on Saturday.

The 189-centimetre midfielder/forward spent two years with the club after being taken with pick 55 in the 2002 draft, but was delisted at the end of 2004.

The 21-year-old was rookie-listed for this season and has earned a second chance with a string of strong performances for Subiaco in the WAFL.

Crowley's elevation comes after key position player Michael Warren was placed on the long-term injury list following surgery on a stress fracture in his foot."

A big surprise, although I wasn't expecting Mundy to debut against the demons and he has played well. I'm not sure how well Crowley goes in the wet with showers forecast. Hopefully Smith gets a run this week. Apparently McManus travelled with the team.

Been playing good footy and deserves a go. But CC will have him warming the pine, on for a few minutes and drop him.

It will another young bloke, who has had his confidence ruined ala Murphy and Mundy.

I say "if they are considered good enough to be given a go, put them on and leave them there for a few games" This is the only way to get a young bloke to step-up.

Drawing a long bow there, Mundy (and he wasn't Robinson Crusoe) has had one slightly down game and he is ruined?

Murphy has had lots of time to grab his opportunity but is obviously still too young/ not hungry enough.

Plenty of time for him yet though.

Bet you now that crowley will get a lot of time in the middle as long as he goes reasonably O.K.

Connoly can't win with you blokes, all week everyone has been crying out for new blood and now that it has happened you find a way to turn it into a negative.

Rewarding good WAFL, now where have I heard that before ...

Good on him for working hard to get to this level. Ironically probably deserved a call up in front of Schofield, but that's life.

Spud who I rate needs to get a bit more urgency in his game, but he is doing ok as he is really only a kid.

Have another bundy Ripper, you know with the Dockers you are damned if you do and damned if you don't.

For sure, Looks like he has worked reall hard and is only 21. Might just be a late bloomer.

He is only a kid yet but will be a star.

Maybe jarman but as long as we keep developing our players we will come through whatever coach we have. Crowley is another positive step to creating more depth and to really put senior players on edge forcing them to play with passion otherwise they'd get dropped!

Ripper Tatter Murphy has not been given the same opportuniies ie game time as say Rash Thornton, Lord Byron, Medders, Barru Mundy, SS Grover, OM Dodd, Kaiser Siegert, Genius Hayden(when fit)

If he is going to hold down a forward spot then leave the kid on the ground instead of rotating him off afterabout 10mins. NO wonder his confidenc eis down.

He has had plenty of time to avoid getting donuts. He will come good but at the moment he has to make things happen , not watch things happen.

My view we have a basic good squad and it is great to see Crowley step up and nothing pleases me more. But he must be given a go and not be in/out and then nowhere. He took time to get the pace of WAFL and now needs to be given time to find his feet at AFL.

Give him a number of games to prove himself, put him on and leave him on. If he fails, let him know where he needs to improve but make it known is he is still a valuable part of the squad and needed back in team ASAP.

Definitley deserved a spot before Schofield. I didn't even think Schofield had done enough to get called up to the Dockers...was very surprised when he was named in the side.
