I wrote him off the end of last year as a bit of a dud , played mainly FP and HFF for subi last year but he's come on really well this year and is playing all over the ground, im happy to be wrong.

Good to see him do well. Looked far from lost in his first game. Most get caught out by the pace of the game. Some really good goals today.

Adjusted beautifully to it all.

Who would think that he, Mundy, Johnson and Dodd have about 15 games between them. All did very, very well today.

Augurs well for the future! Shame Dunny's injury meant he didn't have a chance to shine today - and Murphy may have fallen behind the leading "young fella" pack at this stage...

Well done Freo, top win and good on Ryan Crowley - he's done it the hard way and worked hard to earn the chance to play at AFL. What's the news on Ryley Dunn? Hope it's not too bad.

It's all proof that youngsters mature at different times. Some can play with the big boys at 18, some need another year or two.

Crowley will be better for having to really pull out all stops to make the grade, as he "stuffed" up his first chance, but now realises what is required.

Don't get to het up about Murphy, he will make the grade, but at the moment is learning valuable lessons week by week. Think of him like 211, a project that may pay very high dividends.

Well not this week anyway - but don't your lot have the bye anyhow?

3.1 was a great return from 6 possessions. If he keeps kicking 3 goals a game no doubt he'll stay in. If he only gets 6 possessions each week, without the 3 goals, you might get him back within a few weeks... depending on who's ready to come back in.

He was eased into it last week. It was a good game to allow him to adjust to the pace of AFL footy, and he'll come on from here. His game time and roles will change as the weeks go on. He's probably competing with Des Headland at the moment for his place. The big question is will CC keep both in the side?

Doesn't only have a few games left to make his mark, when Haines comes off the long term injury list, doesn't that drop him back to the rookie list?
