All going well it's going to be bizarre to realistically see Douglas, Seedsman and Jacobs all potentially playing SANFL at once.

It'll be nice that the Crows can go:

"Hey! Good news! Seedsman's back! .... (shhhhhh so is Douglas and he's straight back in)"

and then one week later

"Guys, we're really happy to say Milera is now available. Also Jacobs. But MILERA GUYS! Focus on that! Jacobs straight back for O'Brien who is dominating BUT MILERAAAAAAAAA"

Douglas is going to find it hard to get back into the AFL side once he is back to full fitness. Can see him playing quite a few games in the SANFL before he gets a recall (if he does)
Going to be very interesting to see what happens when Sauce is ready to go, going to be hard to drop ROB if he keeps up his current rate of improvement!

Could potentially see both of these guys given a farewell type game later in the year

Matt Haas says Milera won't need surgery as the injury will just heal itself. Oh s**t, second opinion?

Exactly. Not that shocked to be honest. His hamstring might have improved but back now “out” from hamstring injury and still recovering.
Personally another week is neither here nor there to me. He clearly has talent, I'd just love to see him back out playing and to being able to string some games together

Well it wasn't Haas that had that opinion... It was a specialist. Matt Haas is just the messenger

"He has had his second follow-up with the specialist this morning and it was a positive result that he won’t require surgery."

Douglas will struggle to get back in. Jacob's will also especially with ROB getting coaches votes. When was the last time Jacob's got those?

Injury list as of Tuesday, April 30

Brown (Ankle) – Test
McPherson (Back) – 1 week
Seedsman (Knee) – 2-3 weeks
Douglas (Syndesmosis) – 2-3 weeks
Milera (AC Joint) – 3-4 weeks
Jacobs (Knee) – 3-4 weeks
Doedee (ACL) – Season

McPherson's hamstring injury is now a back injury

Brown should be right to go. Milera has avoided surgery. Gibbs is available
Best team when all fit minus Doedee:
Brown Talia Laird
Smith Keath Gibbs
Milera Sloane Seedsman
Lynch/Davis Walker Jones
Betts Himmelberg Gallucci

ROB BCrouch MCrouch

Greenwood
Cey/Atkins
Mcadam/Fogarty
Knight/McHenry/Murphy/Stengle

Team would be dependant on form but at this stage the interchange I hope may end up as:
Greenwood
Atkins
McAdam/Fogarty
Mchenry

If we need the extra tall it would most likely be Fogarty down back. As you notice the team does not contain: Douglas, Mackay, Jacob's, Hartigan, Kelly, Poholke, Otten, Jenkins who I either don't rate or are too old.

What I like about this team is the age distribution. Probably the perfect age mix for success. Anything older is much less likely to succeed.

Older players:
Betts, Walker, Sloane, Lynch, Gibbs, Talia

Medium to Older players:
Seedsman, Smith, Brown, Keath, Greenwood Cey

Younger players:
BCrouch MCrouch, Laird, Milera, Himmelberg, Gallucci, Atkins ROB Jones McHenry Stengle Murphy McAdam Davis Fogarty Knight

Are you one of those that thinks every 4 week-off injury needs surgery to fix?
Most sprains, hairline fractures and minor dislocations heal on their own.

Whenever possible surgery is mentioned by our staff, it’s ALWAYS decided by specialists/surgeons. Reasons:
- it’s legal negligence if our staff decides for the player to have surgery or not, and not consulting with external specialists
- no surgeons would do surgery on a player just because “the Crows staff told me to do it”
- no players would be dumb enough to consult solely with staff and not a surgeon/specialist

I was clearly joking but carry on.........

Shows that we have a bit of depth. We are winning with six who would have been considered first 22 at the beginning of the season missing, namely Brown, Seedsman, Douglas, Milera, Jacobs and Doedee, five of whom are expected to be available in the next one to three weeks. In addition we have a number in the seconds who are in form and pressing. This leaves us in a good place for an assault on the finals later in the year. Those who have been crying that we should forget finals and rebuild have grossly miscalculated the current AFC. Himmelberg and ROB are succeeding because they have been carefully developed over time and have not been set up for failure by being played while underdone and green.

SANFL side also shaping up like they'll have their first decent run at it since 2016. They certainly wouldn't have countenanced some of the blokes that look like will be available for large portions of the year.
