Much like the same way the kangeroos kicked themselves out of the 98 grand final.
Watch the 2nd quarter of 98 again. Then tell me how many of those missed goals were set shots, and how many were under pressure. Not a gift from Nth Melb.

Yeah, yeah - old ground I know - hey, I just got here....

No, we don't NEED to win another flag. Ours was as equally important as either of the crows flag...I would say we are more successful due to our consistency and winning records.

Hahaha! Apologist already! Sorry, buster, but 2 flags is always better than 1, if you think otherwise you're just deluded.

Secondly, you think you've acted with 'maturity' in response to jibes from Crows supporters?????????????????????????

I don't know what your definition of maturity is, but primary school retorts and tantrums tend to fall in the IMmature category, buster...

Primary school retorts and tantrums? Not once have I stepped out of line and gone nuts. I have been congratulatory towards the crows, but have defended my team, as any true supporter would in saying that I think we are more successful. If you aren't putting our team down, you have to put me down...

I hope Port wins next years flag just to shut these crows fans up. Its been 38 years since our last flag, so one more year of waiting wont hurt ;)

Port were a much much better side than the Crows, I dont know what it was about that side in 97-98, they were annoying, pesky bastards. The Crows just wouldnt go away. 5 goals down with a few minutes to go, you would think its about time for them to ******** off but, no. Also, they won all finals on the road, two years in a row and came from behind at half time in both grand finals. Port were clearly the more consistent team over the years and were more powerful. but i guess in the end, 2 flags are better than 1.

Yes i replied but i was still laughing at that comment hours later.

Winning isnt important at the crows.

Powerkop, PowerKop, PowerKop there really is not a lot of activity up there is there matey. My "correct me if i'm wrong" post was a reply to Thierry Henry.

Good to see how an unbiased supporter sees it. No suprise really. Only Adelaide supporters believe their mediocre team of 97, 98, that won premierships in a soft era, against a soft team and a team that kicked themselves out of the match. Compare that to Port beating the greatest side of all time. NO CONTEST!

Adelaide easy.

Who cares if port have been more consistent, they choked, adelaide didn't. Its grand finals that matter, and the simple fact is adelaide won two to ports one.

Not only what andre said, but the Power beat a more quality opposition in the grand final, and it followed 3 years of consistency.
The crows played an undermanned St. Kilda, enough said.

St Kilda were the dominant team all year in 1997, so how can you say that????Adelaide were pretty undermanned in the 97 GF also no Modra,Roo or Vardy.

The Crows of 97/98 are much older, wiser and fatter. Would the Jarman boys still fit into their gurenseys? And is Blight still mentally sound to coach?

Can we play the game pre-season 2005?

Port Adelaide 95+

:D

Typical crows supporters. IMO, we have been the better team, due to consistency. 3 minor premierships, 2 pre season premierships and now the real premiership. Pretty impressive I thought. And Brisbane may have had a couple of injuries, but that is no excuse for a team that has had plenty of GF experience, winning the 3 previous grand finals to lose by 40 points.

Pt Power also 'consistantly choked' in the finals until this year.

AFC Finals won 12

PPFC Finals won 6

Enough said.

I don't know about luck in September. The Crows in 97 had a poor first month but from that point on the Crows record was as good as any team.

Not only that, but for the year of 1997 the Crows won equally as many games as St Kilda, and more games than the 14 other teams, they beat Saints twice in 1997 in the only two meetings of these sides and they won the GF by 6 goals.

I can't see any way that comes out as the Crows being somehow less accomplished than any other side in 1997.

I don't think any of the Adelaide supporters are trying to say that the Crows of 97,98 were a better performed team over the entire season than Port of 04. However to demean the premierships that Adelaide achieved by saying they were lucky, overachieved or were up against inferior opposition is crap. Grand Finals are won and lost on the day, not in any game before it.
Hear hear. Spot on.

It wasn't exactly a soft era or soft team, and you don't fluke 2 premierships in a row, maybe you can fluke 1.

At the time St Kilda were the best side of 97. They finished minor premiers, and won both of their finals comfortably, maybe they got soft in the Grand Final, but also Brisbane got soft after half-time in your GF.

And to beat North Melb/Kangaroos in the 98 Grand Final was even more speical. Kangaroos were no doubt the best team of the 90s, like Brisbane is the team of the 00s.

But then again, what am i saying, you can't even beat Kangaroos in minor rounds, arnt you something like Kangas 11 to Port 1 in on-field terms ?
