Interesting listening to Adam Simpson the other day and Gerard suggested something about a team doing something and Simpson made a quip, “probably Geelong” can’t remember what exactly it was but it seems the industry seem to think Geelong are pretty shady.
If you’ve can get away with it all power to you.

Do you genuinely reckon the cats have the most expensive list in the league? Let alone spending further million$ under the table?

Last bit isn’t correct. We tried accepting the deal and the AFL blocked it.
Not according to these articles:

"Adelaide was trying to finalise a deal with the Swans in October when instead it went to the AFL over secret third-party payments that formed part of its 2009 contract with the key forward."

"The Crows are at fault and have admitted as much to the AFL. Just as they were about to sign off on a deal with Sydney Swans to send Tippett to the AFL premiers in trade week, they confessed."

More pushing boundaries, things like the 2 first rounders in 4 years or whatever that was, they got it changed for them.
I don’t know, but when people like Simpson make little comments you take notice.
They got fined a few years ago for irregularities and now this investigation, plus the Chris Scott second job.
Where there smoke there’s fire imo.
Also having subcontracted to the costa organization, he’s pretty generous.
There was the family jobs dangers family had, maybe they’re legit, maybe they’re not.

I’d love to see the numbers of games played against the number of players taken in the MSD. Then I’d take away Noble’s games as he’s the main outlier.

The AFL told us the deal wouldn't go through, that we didn't lodge the paperwork does not mean it was our decision. All the reporting was that we accepted or were about to accept the deal of White and Sydney's pick 20 or whatever it was. It was 100% the AFL scuppering the deal, not us choosing not to.

This one refers to AFL blocked.

I reckon the one a few years ago was the GST issue. They also got the compo system changed when Gaz Jnr went to Suns. I don't get the issue with the Chris Scott second job. He's a very high profile and successful coach, there's value in his brand, especially if leveraging a leadership aspect.

But I'll ask again, do you genuinely reckon that they have the most expensive list in the league and are, in fact, paying further million$ under the table?

The article linked doesn't really say that at all

You could just as easily take from that that the trade was blocked by the AFL after the Trigg confessed

In fact the sentence below was the only reference to "blocked" in the article. An article focused on the overall trade period, not specific to the "fiasco" at all

"Then the scandal with Tippett's out-of-contract agreement with Adelaide blocked the Crows chance to trade the Queenslander - and then fill the need for a defender."

Here's another 1 from The Age, specific to the "fiasco"

First sentence

"Adelaide are refusing to say why they effectively dobbed themselves in to the AFL for a secret deal which could kill Kurt Tippett's bid to join Sydney."

Fact is we were going to accept the deal AND it became known that the AFL wouldn't approve it. Unless you reckon we chose to get nothing for Tippett and have this blow up in our face instead of crossing our fingers and hoping the trade went through and walking way scott free.

No worries

Publish those "facts" and I'll happily agree with you

Just accept that you got it wrong. It was well known that the AFL wouldn't let the deal go through and we had accepted the deal but were told not to bother.

Geez, it's all there in black and white. Why you refuse to see the obvious is beyond me. Let me guess "LOL Rucci LOL"

I was living and working overseas at the time

You're an annoying twat

I posted links with specific quotes from 3 seperate articles to support my initial post. They still do.

Was Triggy holidaying with you, because that coward fled the country for trade week. This is what happened.

We wanted more and stood firm
Ordinary stand off
Tippets manager threatened to disclose 2nd rounder agreement
We begrudgingly decided to accept the trade
AFL told us a Tippett trade won't be approved
Trigg came clean having at an earlier point denied any outside contract trade agreement

We were 100% accepting White and Swans first. It was our only way out, we d3finitely weren't sending Tippett to the PSD on principle. And it was during the investigation into the written 2nd round trade deal, that Trigg laughably tried to claim he cancelled verbally, that the Balfours breach was discovered. 'Delete this email', 'Don't let the AFL know about this'.

Total stupidity. But fancy a $500k CEO trying to claim they cancelled a written contract verbally. What an industry.

Which part of "living and working" overseas didn't you understand?

What tf has Jesse White coming to Adelaide got to do with supporting you view? No one has ever disputed that he was considered as part of the proposed trade

At the end of the day this is all pointless

What part of "Trigg holidaying" didn't you understand?

You stated that, "Trigg bulldozed the deal". Trigg did not, he agreed to the deal and it was the AFL that bulldozed.

I guess it's pointless now that you're clearly wrong. And try not to blow up, I know you hit red zone pretty easily. Just accept you were wrong, have been proven so numerous times, and move on with your day.

OK - so my original post was based off what I'd read and my memory of the incident

I posted in fairly broad brush strokes and included that the whole trade deal was perceived as "on the nose" by the AFL and a lot of other industry people

Was that wrong .. no

All you did was post that Trigg self reporting or "bulldozing" the deal was incorrrect

I posted links and included direct quotes from 3 articles that supported that statement

It wasn't until you were pushed that you provided a link to an article that supported your statement

Congratulations .. hope you feel like special :thumbsu:

And from my perspective, why tf would Trigg want to holiday with me? What was the point of that comment? Do you have any idea where I was at the time?

It was 1 of many of your juvenile comments

And on that note I'd like to thank you for all of wonderfully spiteful, juvenile and condescending comments that were completely off topic and unnecessary 🙏🙏🙏

And like you, I hope you can to move on and have a happy day

Couldn’t tell you, and how would you ever know if each player got an extra 100 or 200k somehow?
What players have left?
Gaz and kelly, each for different reasons.
