He is a logical target given his success. Would be very happy to have him back (again) at the Crows
I think he felt very burnt by Adelaide axing him during Covid so I doubt he’d consider going back, just my opinion, no intel. He seems very settled in Adelaide so if he really wants to pursue AFL coaching I guess Port will be it, how strong his desire is I have no idea.

Crows to host drought support match

The Crows will host its Drought Support Match against Gold Coast in Round 19

Adelaide will recognise South Australian farming families, who are enduring extreme drought conditions, by hosting them as special guests at its upcoming match against the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday, July 20.

The South Australian Government and Grain Producers SA, in partnership with Primary Producers SA, SA Dairyfarmers Association and Livestock SA, have teamed up with the Crows to deliver the Drought Support Match, with complimentary tickets being made available for farming families.

Much of South Australia is experiencing the worst drought conditions on record, with some regions recording the lowest rainfall since records began. As part of the match, the State Government will contribute $100,000 toward the Rural Business Support Relief Fund, providing direct assistance to drought-impacted primary producers. The Club’s Home Match Partner, Foodland, will also donate funds for Crows goals kicked on the day.

Adelaide players including defender Nick Murray, who hails from regional New South Wales and now runs his own sheep property at Hartley, will also lead two free footy clinics in the weeks before and after the match. The community clinics – one in Clare and another in Mannum – will be conducted by players and Club staff, who will also host barbecues and autograph signings.

For anyone wanting some detail of the proposed Mac Point Stadium in Hobart ...

The longer it takes to get started, the more expensive it will be. So kinda like a self-fulfilling prophecy for the "it'll cost too much crowd".

Then, when it is built, they will complain about how every shop in the precinct isn't tenanted and when it has been, how that has affected business tenancy rates through the greater Hobart CBD.

And that is before people start complaining about how the sun reflecting off the stadium during summer makes it harder to drive in the afternoon.

There is a lot of complaining still to be done on this proposal...

Does anybody know who the fellow is (assuming it’s a fellow) who “caws” out with the Crow sound after our goals? He sits with the cheer squad. My partner and I cracked it after every goal, would sit there waiting for him. He can’t have much voice left after the games.

He has been at the tigers & dogs game, we were on level 3 on the wing yesterday and could hear him loud and clear.

Loved it!!

That would be the brainchild of the Cheer Squad president, Peter.

Unfortunately, he’s been quite unwell the past couple of years, so his caws are now from the back of the bay rather than the front. We also have a few in the bay that try and do the call, but no one can do them like Peter.

Also, is it just me or do the crow call sounds sound closer to Japanese crows than local crows

I was going to post the same question

He is an absolute legend! Made us laugh every goal. Hopefully chazwazza saw your post!

It's a common misconception but In Adelaide there aren't any "local" Crows (only Ravens)
They typically aren't found any further south than Pt Augusta.

Peter Kauschke is the President of the supporters group in Adelaide. Absolute legend who has been through the ringer (along with his wife) over recent years. Pete suffered a stroke last year but has worked so hard to continue to travel to the games and proffer his loud CAWS. There's also another lad at the front who does them (whose name escapes me).

Just saw Tom Rockliff mention he was talking with us to come over when Brett Burton came back Was expecting it to happen in 2016, but then nothing eventuated. Can understand why we didn't go for him considering we still had Thommo playing then.

Presumably we had all our eggs in the Gibbs basket at the time.

Probably made sense in that we were in the market for perceived class/outside play.

Great player, but between Sloane, the Crouches, Thommo we were reasonably well stacked for inside grunt at the time.

Fog asking kids the all important question of the Adelaide Bigfooty Board Sauce in the Fridge or Cupboard..... Kids unanimously said Fridge..... Hinge says cupboard.
