He was doing fine until the midway point of last season.

Not picking injured or underdone senior players is a box we need to tick if we're to change our culture as a club.

The belief should be that his record even though he on the decline makes him a club great and keeping him for our future is better than throwing him out. it’s not about money or future playing ability.

Early days watching, but Coniglio doesn't inspire much confidence at all. Sloane seems like a nice guy who everyone at the club likes, but maybe not the leader Tex was. Of course Tex had the opposite problem, belief from the players that if he was up and firing he could lead them through anything, but off-field not on the best terms with every guy.

Dew seems like a solid coach. Don't really care seeing Richmond admin being covered (that would apply to any admin though) though.

No chance. But I do like the way Hardwick operates. He seems passionate about success. Peggy seems a balanced and measured chair with strong values

Cogs prepared speech about the past, present and future just came off as super awkward to me. Contrasted to Shaw's speech they showed after probably shows you the difference between someone who has natural leadership and one who maybe doesn't, or is trying to learn it on the job.

I'd personally find it hard to get behind a captain that brings in a statue to the center of the group and talks about spiritual BS like forming special pre-game rituals

The line about "filling the glass with silverware" sounded super funny to me. Like I get what he meant, it's just such an award sounding thing.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting a return to the days of washing the coach’s car (thanks Gary, I still laugh writing that one).

Two assets a coach needs: the judgement to understand what makes each individual player tick, and the charisma to implement it. (Gary, I’m afraid you had neither.)

Some players need the carrot, some the stick...some a mixture of both. Some, like Dusty Martin, need to piss off overseas in the mid-season break.

What I can guarantee you don’t need at a football club is a group of players with an average IQ of 80 making decisions about the direction of the team.

He could tell MJ "hey, you were ****ing shit" knowing that would fire him up to prove PJ wrong. He also knew he couldn't do that with a BJ Armstrong or Horace Grant and he had to put the arms around them and go "go on, you can do better" and he knew with a guy like Rodman sometimes he just had to let him go and blow some steam off and trust he'd come back ready to roll again (the reason he hated playing in San Antonio. They tried to control him, which made him rebel even more).

Sloaney said more in that midfielders meeting than Brad and what Godden and Nicks said was general for the whole group. Godden highlighted about 6 or 7 players in the edit who weren’t doing the right thing defensively.

They’re obviously trying too, it’s just hard for some of those senior players to break bad habits. They highlighted last year how much of an issue it is and the players aren’t happy about it, but unfortunately we are still very inconsistent at it. Sloaney used to be one of the best two way runners in the comp but he’s really struggling to cover ground atm.

Thats been one of our biggest issues for years now. People bang on about the forward line not applying enough pressure but the midfield pressure is non existent.

I like the editing on the Crows/Eagles game to make it seem like ROB and us were on top early and it was a second half fight back from the Eagles to win. Builds a nice narrative about the Nic Nat/O'Brien incident that happened, but we lost by 33 and lost every quarter on the scoreboard bar the last which we won by 1 point.
