Taylor Walker springs to mind

no way in hell would I want Walker at Carlton. He reminds me of Brendan Fevola, ie. when he doesnt mark the ball, he won't chase the opposition player and then has a go at the ump.

Ive seen him play a fair bit living in SA, and I dont think he'd do the club any good.

One thing that springs to mind with Jacobs is that if he really wants to head to the Crows, and the Crows decide to be stubborn, then he could just walk and get picked up in the PSD. I guess one positive is that it seems like quite a few clubs are interested in him, so hopefully this won't happen.

I think if we can convince Knights to come over to us then this would seem reasonable.

Knights + 2nd/3rd Rounder -> Walker + Jacobs.

Shaun McKernan could also be an option

Sometimes you've got to lose something you dont want to give up, and if we end up having to give up these two i wouldn't mind T. Walker and they're first rounder..

Or a Chris knights + Second rounder for Walker/Jacobs.
Although attractive as knights is... I don't think we quite need him as much as a walker/KPP prospect.

Yep, if he's only going to be sitting in the VFL most of the time it's better to get someone who will improve our best 22.

Exactly. We are better off trading Jacobs, using Hampson as depth (O'halpin in a pinch) and picking up either a key defender (NOT Tarrant, Spangher etc) a quality rebounding defender (few available, if only Drummond didn't get injured so much) or a marking forward, medium or tall.

The only way I would want to trade both Jacobs and Walker would be if we got a quality tall in return. And something tells me Adelaide will not trade any of Walker, Tippett, Davis or Talia.

Knights + 2nd round for Walker + Jacobs would be a fair deal but I'd prefer to keep our two if we can't get a tall to either play KPD or KPF and release one of Hendo/Waite back.

Adelaide would be aware they're going to need to give something to get something, particularly with Walker being under contract.

They either are willing to give up their first round pick (and something else) or they have a player or players that they're willing to let leave.

This..

and there is no way they would get rid of Taylor Walker/Phil Davis. They value those two higher than most of our list..

Probably your entire list mate, and I'm not being a smartarse there.

Good to see some reasonable responses here; the reality is, Jacobs is your third or fourth choice ruckman, who wants to come home.

You aren't going to get a goldmine for him.

He'd be your 3rd or 4th string if you had Kreuzer and Warnock ahead of him. He's ahead of Hampson, and he'd still draw and early pick with most. Nothing like depth.

But we don't.

No point having a Ferrari in the garage if you can't ever drive it.

Jacobs is fourth in line, is unlikely to play many games for you next year, and wants to come home - again, you aren't going to get the world for him.

Also, lulz at you instructing others to post rationally.

No, I'm not.

If you want to be a tosser, more power to you, but you have no idea how highly rated both Walker and Davis are by the Crows.
So you really think Walker (who has fallen out with the coach recently) and Davis are rated higher than Judd, Murphy, Kreuzer or Gibbs? If so then yes, you are a moron.

Walker hasn't fallen out with Craig.

Rated higher than Murphy and Kreuzer, yes.

Judd is no doubt a better footballer (duh), but these two guys are seen (with Tippett/Danger) as the future of our Club for the next decade.

You know I'm not talking purely as footballers with their current output.

Playing three ruckman will be a difficult task IMO.

Personally I am unsure whether Kreuzer will be coming back into the side come round 1. He needs to get his body right and come back in his own time. No use in him coming back unsure of his knee (thinking of Waite here).

So therefore Jacobs will be assured of a game for the first half of next season. The second half is a different question. If the 22 lines up with three ruckman I'd expect it to look like this:

B: Joseph Jamison Russell
HB: Armfield Bower Lucas
C: Simpson Grigg Murphy
HF: Scotland Waite Gartlett
F: Betts Henderson Kreuzer
R: Warnock Judd Gibbs
I/C: Jacobs, Robinson/Davies/Walker/White/Yarran/Mclean/Johnson/Houlihan

Issue is some very decent flankers/midfielders are pushed out by the extra ruckman.

IF Warnock/Kreuzer can play like an extra midfielder and float forward and Jacobs improves his endurance significantly it can work. Big IF though.
Kreuzer won't be a forward. I don't want them doing that for the sake of fitting 3 ruckman in. They spoke about that last year and gave it away after a couple of practice games as it wasn't working too well.

Yes, Walker had a falling out with Craig and considered leaving for two weeks before deciding to stay. You don't even know anything about your own team. :o

There is no way those two are rated in front of Murphy and Kreuzer by anyone, you're making a fool of yourself.

There's absolutely no way it can work unless Kreuzer or Hampson develop into an elite permanent forward. I don't see either happening. Even then I'd think we'd be top heavy.

We had no issue playing 2 rucks and Setanta as our leading goalkicker earlier in the season.

Our structure seems okay with two 194cm+ talls as forwards, so one of Henderson or Waite would need to play CHB. Hey presto, we don't need Tarrant. :thumbsu:

There must be something in the water over there in Adelaide, they are all delusional.:confused::confused::confused:

I don't consider a disagreement to be a falling out; falling out to me suggests the relationship is untenable.

You're probably right about Kreuz/Murph, but, as I said, the Crows hold these two as being of incredible importance to the Crows for a long time.

Walker + Jacobs + 3rd rounder <---> Knights + McKernan

Where do I sign>

A 1st round pick plus a player for your Walker who was ommitted in round 22... along with Jacobs for that matter.

As for Taylor Walker wanting to leave in the last 2 weeks... yeah right. Is that a cut out from one of your head movies. I heard that from Carlton fans on the Adelaide board miles back... but that's where it was coming from. I'm sure you'll find he's pretty damned happy in Adelaide. If he's going anywhere it'll be to GWS for a billion dollars a season. Outside of that you're dreaming.

I think we'd be after Jacobs well ahead of Walker in honesty. If there's anything we have plenty of it's defensive utilities. His pace might be handy hence the interest from us... but to think a 1st round pick is likely... I'm not sure. Perhaps the bock pick... 26. Sellar looks about the only tradeable player we have... and that's only cos he played shit on Sunday for Glenelg and everyones on his ass. I'd be imagining he's strongly required also.

I don't want to lose Jacobs. If we are really trading him, we want a 1st round pick. We got Barnaby French from our 1st round pick so I don't see why Jacos would be worth a 2nd round pick.

When he thinks about leaving for two weeks because of the coach, that's a falling out mate sorry.

Murphy and Kreuzer are both number 1 draft picks who have never not looked like fulfilling their potential. What they've done to date in their careers is nothing short of incredible. Your guys have a long way to go before they can even be mentioned in the same breath as these guys.

Now that Knights is set to stay in Adelaide, the Crows have nothing to offer us except mid range picks in a weakened draft. No way are they going to offer up one of their KPs, yet we are going to give them 2 players to fill their weakness in ruck and an outside midfielder with pace.

The Crows will give Walker a go on the wing and let him use his pace and height, instead of trying to turn him into a KP defender. Also Walker is 24, his peak football should be in the next 4 years. We don't have enough players on our list in the 24-28 age range. If we do trade these 2 without getting something we really need in return, it might come back back to bite us.

Andrew Walker's father has posted on CSC that Walker met with the Crows on Monday and was meeting with Carlton today.

To tell the club of his intentions to be traded I assume.

On the Taylor Walker part, forget it. I saw Tex today at a hospital in Adelaide and although its off season, he was wearing a pair of Crows track pants. He loves the club and wont go anywhere

He didn't say but yes he would be letting them know of his intentions either way. Won't get any more out of DOA until next week but hopefully BIB has something for us soon.

That's as legally binding as it gets IMO.
