Walker & Jacobs - for Sellar & Bock pick (22?) you know it's happening :)
Why would we want the next Kepler Bradley/Leigh Brown (Hack of all trades, master of none) and a second round pick for a ten year ruckman and a contracted utility?

If you've committed to Jacobs and Walker, then Carlton should get more than your leftovers and a second round pick.

The Seaby, Warnock and Mumford trades are around the mark for Jacobs.

I can see a straight swap Sellar for Jacobs if both feel they will have a better chance of playing in a position they want to play in but Walker being contracted will need Adelaide to pay the overs if they really want him.

When you want gun KP talent like big Jimmy, you gotta pay up. Looking fwd to Jacobs giving Walker great service next year. (For Adel) :thumbsu:

You obviously have not seen Sellar play in recent times, although a high draft pick he is clearly not tall enough for a ruckman and not quick enough to play key position, Jacobs worth is probably a pick in the 15-25 range on his own right, Sellar is battling to stay on a AFL list.
There is little doubt the Blues will require something whether it is draft picks or players of significantly more valve than Sellar

I'm a bit scared about arguing with someone that uses the word vituperatively :p but I thought Warnock would've been a decent, realistic addition to our backline. Big bodied defender who did a great job on some big key forwards last year and finished 5th in Melbourne's B&F. Wouldn't have been that bad a recruit I don't think.

Would provide depth but I just don't see a player almost 27 with a mere 51 games is going to be a medium-term solution, family reunions aside. Swap for Thornton?;)

On the other hand, landing an 'untouchable' like Davis however unlikely, might dramatically fix our defense.

We are not in a position to pick and choose with an uncontracted player. Them's the facts

Fair call, it's getting a bit hard to tell with some of the crap other Crows supporters have been saying in here. Play on :thumbsu:

the unfortunate part of almost trade week

here is a tip, don't go onto the AFC board and read what your fellow posters have being typing.

it seems people leave there brains at the door when they enter onto opposition boards these days (going both ways of course)

He was a mature age recruit, didn't start playing for Melbourne until he was 22 which explains the lesser number of games. Certainly got a lot longer career ahead of him and less injuries than Tarrant. He's proved he can do the job on the big bodied forwards.

You're right, Davis is considered untouchable, I couldn't see them letting him go.

Not all the facts ...

We are not in a position to pick and choose if the player is happy to go anywhere else.

Jacobs will end up in Richmond or Perth if he enters the PSD. But he wants to go to Adelaide.

Everyone has to play nicely.

Oh, and if we're honouring Dick Pratt, we'll go after the player who we think will be best for Carlton FC.

I don't think second rounders and James Sellar would be how Dick would wanted this to play out.

So why wouldn't we take a potential KPD in Sellar instead of nothing at all?

Just had a look over there, apart from that Davis_756 guy that's always red carded the Carlton supporters have been pretty realistic. Adelaide supporters need to realise that pick 14 in such a weakened draft is worth more like pick 22 most years and that McKernan really hasn't done anything to be rated so highly. may make a good key forward, but has a long way to go.

We were in a similar position with Warnock and we were forced to hand over quite a bit to secure his services, same principle will apply with this trade, you think Carlton are going to accept a list clogger like Sellar you are dreaming, and since when has Sellar suddenly become a KPD.

Strange that Adelaide supporters are willing to rate Mckernan on potential yet refuse to project with either Walker or Jacobs. The pick 28 is being rated as a first rounder on promise at SANFL level, despite playing just the one game for the Crows.

Yet Jacobs who's had a solid season at AFL level and was the dominant ruckman in a final isn't worth a top 20 pick in a weak draft.

Yeah I thought the same thing...didn't think it was too bad over there to be honest.

Jacobs and Walker for Seller is a disgrace...anyway which way you want to look at it!

Yes the rating their players on potential but not ours is starting to get a bit silly now.

Agreed... and that would never happen. If a deal is done it would need to be satisfactory for all parties involved. This is one of those situations where if a deal doesn't get done, supporters on both sides would still be happy having retained the player(s) that potentially would have left.

I think it will take some discussion but a fair deal can be reached. Adelaide and Carlton are reasonable clubs when it comes to trading and have a reasonable history.

For all the BS between each sets of supporters this is the one thing that I think will occur. I agree that both clubs will negotiate a fair deal
