 So we should just delist Kreuzer and Warnock. Get off the bongs.

You idiot, Kruezer is a champ, Jacobs should play alongside Kruezer, neither should carry the ruck throughout the entire game. Warnock can earn his was into the team just like the rest of them

You're the idiot if you think that Jacobs is the no.1 ruck ahead of Kreuzer and Warnock. He is no.3, and as such wants to go to another club where he is no.1.

We'd probably end up losing Kreuzer who also wants to be a number one ruck

alongside Warnock

kruezer is a gun no doubt but Jacobs should be rucking alongside him, I doubt we'd ever treat kruezer the way they've treated Jacobs.
Having said that it looks like Sauce will be leaving so we are stuck with the pathetic desicion to recruit Warnock and pat him a shit load when we already had a gem

The Warnock trade looks better with every game he plays imo- no-one knew

how much Sauce would come on when it was done. If turning a rookie into a

late first round pick and/or player is what we get, its still a win for us.

Please. Get this into your thick head. HAMPSON IS IRRELEVANT TO JACOBS WANTING TO LEAVE.
If we trade Hampson, JACOBS WILL STILL BE IN THE VFL AND HE WILL STILL WANT TO LEAVE.

You dont know that for a fact, Blues were looking to trade Hampson and keep Jacobs. They do not want to play Kruezer in the ruck full time to preserve his longevity, he can play in many different positions not just the ruck. FACT.

I NEVER said Kruezer isnt the number one ruck, he's shits all over Hampson and right now Warnock. Kruezer can fill different positions and that was the plan

Carlton want to keep Jacobs, and he wants to leave. We are not chosing to get rid of Jacobs. HE WANTS TO LEAVE. Hampson is irrelevant.

He only wants to leave because of pathetic selectors kept chosing dud Hampson over him. Of course he wants more opportunity but he would have stayed if they stop dropping him back to the two's. we should be dealing with the club that gives us the best offer, not just the crows.
Ps Rattens a jerk

I agree its a win but still sad to see him go. We should be shopping around for the best possible deal for him. The crows are not the only ones who need a ruckman.

Cause the Blues threw all sorts of money and picks to get Warnock, big mistake. They should have used Hampson as part of the trade and Jacobs should have taken the number one ruck when Kruezer went down. Blues have got it wrong again.

WOW you really are a tool .......... Warnock was recruited in 2008 to cover 1st ruck duties for 2009, to help out Kreuzer and to allow Jacobs and Hampson to develop. As it turned out Warnock himself was injured for 2009, when Hampson had his best season (and stagnated a little this year) while Jacobs has come on in leaps and bounds this year.

Hampson was always going to be a long-term project player (athletic freak from a Soccer background) and there would have been NO WAY IN HELL he would be traded in 2008 for Warnock, while Jacobs has developed ALOT this year to a level unexpected when he was first recruited.

Jacobs and Warnock have, at worst, been GREAT investments. Warnocks salary means little considering how much cap space we had, and he will now form a formidable ruck partnership with Kreuzer for years to come, while Jacobs has now boosted his value up somewhere near a 1st rd pick.

I would love to keep Jacobs, esp for next year as I think Kreuzer should be kept out of the ruck and played on a wing/as a 3rd tall for 2011, but he is desprate for more game time and the Crows are offering him a heap of $$$ I will hate to see him leave but if we can get a decent trade for him (Jacobs + 2nd rd pick for #14 sounds good to me) then it could be a win-win all around.

Wow, this thread go painful quickly.

Warnock is streets ahead of Kreuzer as a pure ruckman. It really is't even close, and wait to see when he has played 4 or 5 full years.

That said, Kreuzer is streets ahead as a footballer.

As far as I'm concerned, they will be the perfect complement to eachother.

Jacobs will never be our starting ruckmen, if all are fit. Fair enough wanting out. I just wish he didn't nominate a club. Bloody dufuss.

FMD, just reading the last few pages, there's a lot of Crows fans with superior knowledge of the juniors and their development paths....as well as recruitment philosophies, and they don't seem to need to watch, TAC, Maccas Cup, SANFL, VFL or AFL to do it...amazingly talented this crows mob.. :thumbsu:

I love how Will Young is "super talented" but Jacobs hasn't proven anything

How does talented = proven? No one denies that Jacobs too is talented. Do you even know what you're saying half the time? :D

They'll work something out, it won't be a huge trade. Sellar and a late pick at best is my tip.

Unfortunately we will get reamed now that Jacobs has nominated Adelaide. If we end up with Sellar as part of the trade, at least he has played a few games at AFL level and plays for one of the better teams in the SANFL when not selected for the Crows. Talia & McKernan both play for wooden spooners South Adelaide who won just 2 games this year. If the Crows cop an injury to Davis or Rutten and have to rely on Talia or McKernan to come to the recue then you can bookmark them in for bottom 4 in 2011.

Bit sad to see Jacobs go, he really showed a lot of potential. Walker on the other hand i wouldn't try and stop him from walking out. He's lacked consistancy (Yes injury did not help at all) but that's not what we want to deal with.

The cover for Rutten is more likely to be Will Young, he's the Full Back for Norwood, who are in the GF this year - though he won't be playing, he's already had his post season surgery.

There is another side to this that most seem to have overlooked - money. Articles suggest that the Crows have offered him far more than what we can. Even if we traded Hampson, or guaranteed him more game time, there would still be the issue of money.

Given the amount of high draft picks we have that will (hopefully) be worthy of good money over the next 5-6 years, it might just be that the administration have made the decision that trading Sauce is in our best interests over all....get some picks in now, give the kid what he wants and reduce the risk of salary cap problems down the track.

At the end of the day, good luck to the big guy. If I could guarantee myself more game time and more money I would be out in a flash.

This is about trading for Jacobs BTW. If you're really after our fifth rounder then that offer seems suitable.

You raise an excellent point about the money side of things.

Carlton have got a heap of young guns who will only demand more as each year passes, which will put pressure on the salary cap.

Moving Jacobs on will help somewhat in this respect.

Just on the previous argument re Jacobs, Hamson and Warnock, Warnock is head and shoulders above the other 2.

He's mobile, takes a good grab, excellent long kick, rucks well with his height advantage, even competes solidly for the ball at ground level.

When we talk potential, Warnock is it. IMO he has the potential to be one of the very best ruckmen in the whole comp, if not the best, as he matures over the next few years.

You stole him off of Freo IMO. :)

Couldn't agree more. We're either both right or both wrong. :thumbsu:

Id love to either get Talia or Mckernan for Jacobs. Both are not seen as in the list of untouchables and could be very handy pickups. Carlton are keen on Talia as reported in the Sun today as part of the Walker deal so this could eventuate.

I also think people are underating Sellar, yes he hasnt done much in his career. But he is only 21 or 22. This is still very young for a KPP and most do not develop until they are atleast 24. He has also been playing out of position which might hav slowed his development.

Sellar will definately come for less than Talia or Mckernan, but i still think he would be a handy pickup. Just needs to be given a chance.
