Doubt they will have cap room to throw money at him like the crows can. The retirements of Burton, Mcleod, Goodwin, Edwards, Hentschel and losing Bock have freed up some cash for us.... Whereas the Saints will be looking to keep their list together....

I am hoping for a Jacobs to Adelaide, Griffin to Freo and Tarrant to Carlton deal which would make both Adelaide and Carlton reasonably happy and keep Freo consistent with their trading history.

Would there be anyone out there that would be willing to pay say $500K in first season and then $250K per year for the remainder of the contract for a ruckman with only 17 games of AFL experience?! I am certain St. Kilda could not do that.

350k pa is hardly that hard to match, especially with 2 rucks retiring. He'll get the opportunity he's after, plus be playing in a much better team. It's not his first preference, but it's far from a bad outcome. Hawks, and maybe Cats are possibilities as well, plus a few others.

Anyway, we've been kind enough to give the Crows first crack because we like Sammy. But if there's any stalling, plan B will be rolled out pretty quickly. Suspect the crows people are weighing that risk up right now. They haven't ruled out our requirement. No doubt they'll be thinking about the situation hard over the weekend. Again, we don't waste time with bluff demands. That's for amateurs. The aim is to get a trade done quickly and professionally. You'll never be able to shaft us though, and if any club tries it they'll regret it. You list management guy was being very careful with what he said today I note. Good to see.

Said Carlton have already knocked back the Bock compo pick and if pick #14 was not offered that things could get "ugly"......

Sounds like its all or nothing in this regard and Jacobs could end up in the PSD.
