Time for Ratts and Swanny to sit down with Sammy over the week-end and explain the the crap being thrown up by Adelaide and work out the terms for a new contract to stay at Carlton.

Given what they traded for Tambling an offer of Pick 33 in this draft is a joke. Jacobs may be rethinking whether playing with the Crows is the right move if this is what they think he's worth.

Sam Jacobs will determine what Adelaide think he's worth based offer they have put to him - not what is going down in a club vs club negotiation!!? Surely you understand that?!

I don't know the kid from Adam, but to suggest that he'll feel put out or devalued because Adelaide has offered less for him than Richy Tambling is ludicrous. DOn't fool yourself, the kid probably couldn't give a flying proverbial, as long as Adelaide show him the money and the opportunities, which clearly they have committed to doing.

I agree though that Sticky Icke (as he shall now be known in honour of Sin City) and Co will probably use this as leverage to try and keep him on board next year (and so they should, if he is rated as highly as is being suggested).

3. We need midfielders... we have plenty of key positions... this is a very good draft despite what is being said and pick 14 aint going nowhere.

Worst case scenario he goes into the PSD and ends up at another Victorian club on a salary of his choice where he's actually needed. We still have plenty of very mobile ruck options throughout our list.

You guys can stare this one down til the oxygen runs out... and 90% of Crows fans hope you do. We'd love to have him... but to think we're going to cry about missing out is fanciful.

Shouldn't underestimate Walker's value next year in the context of restricted interchange. He has a huge tank and a capacity to go @ 100% for the full 100 minutes, taking pressure off midfield rotations. That aside he's not that bad a player, only 24, just clicked 100 games and the radical surgery seems to have fixed his shoulder woes. To be honest I dont think he has been utilised all that effectively.

This guy will form the basis of medical science journals for the next decade with the lengths they've had to go to keep him from falling to bits.

Collarbone was unfortunate but at least the shoulder held up. Personally I dont think there is an upside in this draft for Carlton in trading Walker so best he sees out his contract. In any case, if he has a good year and wants to move, Tex will be in a better negotiating position.

With that list of C-D grader "rucks" you obviously need Jacobs. I agree you midfield is poor as well. So why oh why did you cough up 2 draft picks for Tambling? He's terrible in the middle, that's why the Tiges don't play him there anymore. The crows list management is at best confused. And if you miss Jacob's it will be a total disaster. And we know that.

His broken collarbone had nothing to do with his previous shoulder injuries. The same injury has happened to VFL/AFL players since the game was first played. The same injury could happen to just about anyone partaking in heavy physical activity.

I would suggest if you are going to be a smart arse, you do it elsewhere.

How many premierships did the Crows win from those finals appearances since 2002? Zero. The same number as Carlton during that period & in the most recent season Carlton made the 8 (including beating Adelaide by 7 goals at AAMI Stadium in the process), while Adelaide never looked like making it.

It'll be pick 14. Or a lesser pick plus an "untouchable". Nothing's really changed since we told them what to do about a week ago. Don't expect anything to happen for a few days. The Crows really stuffed themselves in terms of options when they overpaid for Tambling. Painted themselves into a corner.

We're playing this trade perfectly. Just kicking back watching the crows make mistake after mistake. It's very similar to last year with Vossy.

We have put 4 years of development into Jacobs and he has now become a very good ruckman who would be a walk up number 1 in your side because of all the other shit ruckman you guys have. His stats at this age have been greater than almost any other ruckman traded at approximately the same age as him in the past few years.

Pick 14 in a compromised draft IS the fair deal, but you guys are a bunch of filthy bastards that want to get him for next to nothing. LOL pick 33, in this year's draft, in normal conditions that's like pick 45 or thereabouts!

I really hope the Saints or Cats make us a better offer OR he gets picked up before he gets to your pick in the PSD and you guys miss out on him.

I think you'll find that we wanted either Tambling or Walker as an outside mid. When Carlton insisted on an expensive trade we told "saviour Swanny" (Read: over confident attempted bully boy) to bugger off. Hence we grabbed Tambling. Same thing will happen with Jacobs unless he pulls his finger out.

All piss taking aside; and it's been golden mmmgood brahs; there's a skerrick of misconception about where things sit here. Adelaide's ruck situation isn't dire, though it could do with improvement. The Jacobs trade is not a do it at all costs proposition for the AFC, that's been pretty clear from the start. Hence their coming out on the radio and saying they've made a take it or leave it offer; if it gets done, fantastic. If not, they'll try their luck in the PSD where he could well be taken earlier, or you'll make a play to re-sign him, whatever's going. Should they not land him, they'll pick their ball up and carry on. End of. That's the lay of the land.

This whole arm twisting bravado jazz is good for a bit of huff and giggle between supporters, but the reality is there's very little actual fire in this. Rather there's none.
