I think bomberclifford is the type of person who would yell all sorts of obscenities at AFL (or Crows players) players to simply try and get a reaction and this is how he gets his jolly’s.

What makes you say that? Are you basing it on the basis of his post?

Calm down, it was a throw away line.

Please don’t hit me. :o

I cringed when I saw this, I would not be suprised though if he was asked to wear a crows top. Much like the recent controversy with Jessica Rowe and the troops in East Timor. Where the production manager put the troops in the background to try and make the story appear more serious than it was.

I wonder if the Advertiser with advertise the article on radio and TV, do a front page story and do a 3-4 page spread on it?

it wont get in the tiser rooch will see to that BUT if it was the other way round it would be a heavy tiser Monday.

I'd be very surprised if the Advertiser doesn't do a follow-up story of sorts. Rucci's the chief football writer, not the editor of the paper. He has no influence on those sort of decisions.

Sorry guys, I don't get the SA papers.

What DID this 'Dale' bloke say to Dean Brogan?
allegedly said he was "playing for the wrong team" and called him a "richard cranium"....maybe more ....but that was all that was reported.

Umm, I don't see this going to trial.
I dont think it will either

Any comments on radio and tv would have to be vetted by a lawyer.

I am certain port will offer him and his mates some tickets to a Port game...probably offer him a whole section for his family and friends and their families and friends( ok thats going too far)

Maybe get a box for the Showdown...and they salmonella the dip

Nope, legionnaires in the air conditioner.

Mad Dog, maybe I am wrong and the club has no action or reason to hold this guy accountable but do you seriously think that Dean Brogan would king hit someone simply because he was called a Dick head?

Now this imbecile (Dale) is going to tell his side of the story on the channel 9 (and maybe 10 and 7) news wearing a Adelaide Crows jumper and possibly inflame the situation further, hopefully for his sake and reputation he doesn’t embellish the facts about the altercation because if Dean Brogan has assaulted him he could be charged..

I simply don’t buy the story that all he said was “you play for the wrong side, Dick head” and that’s there is more to the story.

If he claims something happened and unjustly represents that club in a negative manor, then yes in someway they are responsible for his actions.

If he was working for a McDonald’s chain and fabricated the truth about some events that happened and then went on a commercial television program (I am sure fox footy channel will pick this coverage up) news service wearing a McDonald’s hat or uniform then yes he will come under undue pressure from his employer, especially if he was found to be fabricating the truth.

Maybe revoking his Adelaide Crows membership (if he has one) is a bit much and out of the Adelaide Football Club control but as he is now wearing an Adelaide Crows jumper he is most definitely a representative of the Adelaide Crows supporter base (see channel 9 news tonight).

I guess if any of my comments on www.bigfooty.com are found to be liable and consequently end up in (or on a) major news service I guess they may. If for some reason my avatar was shown in conjunction with my abrasive comments the Nike Company could take legal action as a form of defamation.
C98 - with all due respect you are all over the place on this issue.

I have no problem with your assessment of the "nuff nuff" factor on both sides of the altercation. "Dale" is a knob and it's good to see a smart mouth filled every now and then. By the same token, Brogan should know better and should justifiably get whatever is coming to him from the club. If "Dale" dons the AFC colours to cry about getting clocked after abusing a player, then I figure it might not be the last time he meets with that fate....;)

But....I completely disagree that the AFC have a role to play in this. Revoking membership would be like admitting some guilt by association.....not necessary IMO.

As for you comments wrt Nike...your logic confounds me.....

Wasn’t the punch in the face punishment enough for the young lad? Surly you wouldn’t want to put him though more pain and embarrassment to be seen at a Power game. :)

What a Moron...

Dale was just on Channel 10 news and apparently he "regularly goes to the airport to support his team and heckle opposition players"....

Well idiot - that seals it for me... :thumbsd:

And the real chance of more punches to the head.

Yeah you are right and it’s out of there hands but I just don’t want to see idiot like that getting away with that sort of crap. After all in my option he provoked this incident as apposed to being the victim. I just feel that he will try and play the victim card.

Allegedly he rang the Port Adelaide football club and asked for Nike clothing attire to keep quite.

Forget that, it’s getting of the topic and it not really relevant

And every Port supporter is asking their Crows neighbour to record the news and Today Tonight , remembering his face ( crayon drawings on stobie poles tomorrow) and I can guarantee karma will catch up with him a hundredfold

One of the things I am careful of is an over reaction , so what i do is tend to reverse the roles.

If it was Biglands who hit a taunting Port supporter what would you be saying, expecting?

I've been really surprised by the responses in this thread, and have found them reasoned and well thought out....until now....That photo had 'set up' written all over it.
Anyhoo Spring Choke, what would your response be to me calling you a d*ckhead to your face?

This seems to be the general response from the moronic Port majority. It was all his fault. In 2000 you were saying it was all her fault. Isn't about time your club and supporters looked to lay the blame at the players instead of blaming the victim. Like i said, culture - pffft.

Maybe answer the question next time...................please

The exact same thing, this is about stupid people who cannot live in society like a normal human being.

I do not condone what Dean Brogan has done and violence is never the answer but if the moron Dale never said anything to Dean Brogan in the first place he would never have hit him.

Sorry Springy, Dale is not the victim in this, he is the perpetrator
