When we had Dangerfield and Thompson in the Guts Sloane played on the wing outside the contest. This is where we need him. Let The Crouches and Greenwood do the Grunt work in the centre and let Sloane on the outside. Much harder for opposition to tag him on the wing.

He should definitely spend some time there as can run all day and it's a good change up

You mean when Sloane is tagged out of the game we should try something else. Wow, are you listening Donny.

I'm with you in gov and seeds

Don't get me wrong Thommo isn't a long term fix we just need someone who is capable of mixing in the middle and Thommo is the best of a bad bunch

Totally agree Sloane is in a form slump sick and tired of posters saying he is being tagged out if it, if he is it's pretty sad as it's a bunch of no names that are destroying him. I'm with you think it's all in his head and he needs to break it

We just need any of the other mids to fly the freaking flag for Sloane. Hell... if i was tex, i'd order sloane to the forward line for a couple of center bounces and insert myself in the middle and make sure my prescence was felt. Or grab the crouch bros by the scruf of the neck and get them to bloody protect their vice captain.

Thommo is there in case one of the Crouch's gets injured. Brad, Matt and Hugh are all in front and none of them deserves to be dropped.

Thommo in for Douglas is not like for like. Just make us slower with more handballs.

Have to agree Sloane needs to lift this week he has to find away Elite player do and thats why they are Elite players. If Not then maybe Thommo/Pohokle come's in for him. We only have a few more games for him to get it right. then we need to prepare for the pointy end of the season.

Thommo for me is that Finals experienced player that would be first picked if we had to replace Sloane, Brad or Matt Crouch and now Greenwood (depending on Hampton)
Unfortunately Sloane isn't the only senior player that needs to lift. Betts, Walker, Lynch, Smith, Douglas...

Is sorry, but Thommo is not the answer though, we're winning plenty of contested footy and clearances, it's the effectiveness of these which is the issue. Thommo will win clearances and that's it, otherwise he'll just make us slower and even less efficient around the contest.

Agree but team balance doesn't seem to matter to Don. Just look at our current forward line!

I understand what you are saying however when you consider that we have not had an opportunity to draft in high end talent our development of late picks and rookie selections has been as good as any club

we just need to add high end talent to be a real threat
We may have been able to claim this in the past. Certainly not this year. Too many Crows discards are developing to a higher standard at other clubs for this to be true anymore.

That's pretty much our entire leadership group. Thomo being the other.

Not really, it's just about opportunity. Guys like Kaesler, Younie and co do a great job but are let down by those above them.

I believe so yes. We seem reluctant to give them a crack.
This was the problem last year. It was understandable to a degree with our lack of injuries but I thought the club had looked at this over the preseason. They were going to manage the playing list a little better. But looks like nothing has changed.

We faced a discard on Thursday night for Hawthorn. Tore us a new one. In the past these type would have disappeared into the sunset never to be seen again. Next week we face another discard. Is anyone confident he won't do the same?

There's also Gibbs but can't really claim him as a discard technically. More a chance gone begging.

Took too long to give Greenwood a go, I don't rate Wigg but he's been very good in large parts. Gooch got 1 game, who the hell does that and drops him for a guy who didn't play.

ROB needs gametime, Cheney has played ressies 2 weeks too long, Doedee has played some great games too.

He really didn't...... had 20 touches to half time and none of them were damaging. He got going when the rest got on top, like he's always done.

Slim pickings cheney would be in if he hadn't been injured

We clearly need aggression cheney is the only one that has mongrel in him the rest are soft
