Where do I start. At 22 he had the football world at his feet. Its more the couldabeens. Was AA in 85 and would have made more teams. May have won a Brownlow. Just the potential.
If my memory serves Mots was able to play CHF at Sturt but was really a tall ruck rover. The prototype for the tall mids today. For his career, I'd be looking at James Hird as the type of player he would have been. But I was young, certainly much younger than fossils like macca23 and your good self.

And then a couple of weeks to see if Thommo still has something to offer at the level. And let's face it, 17 touches and 6 tackles from 80% TOG purely as a mid will be plenty enough to keep him in the team, regardless of the fact that he can't run or impact contests outside of stoppages.
Or fail to consistently turn possessions to any sort of advantage, turnovers aside.

Soft spot for Brisbane
I'd say his confidence is cooked from his 3 consecutive years of travelling to GC as emergency then not ever playing a game

Been mismanaged completely- shame
Well, he's obviously incredibly mentally weak then, and never was going to amount to anything.

:D

Yeah I didn't want to try and pick a player to compare as I feel he is an amalgam. James Hird is good. He could leap like Modra, silk like Burgoyne and courage like Hird

Gore was always smoke and mirrors; it was blatantly obvious.
Yes, but now we find out that having predicted that from the beginning, it's only with hindsight that it's turned out to be correct. It reminds me of the Hartigan basher who reckoned he was still right to say he'd never been any good because he'd correctly assessed the information at the time and the people who thought he'd be good were wrong to think it. On Gore, it's no big deal, we gave up 55 for him to pollute the Danger trade. If he ever gets to the point that he's 2 or 3 back in the queue for a gig, then he's been worth that pick. If we've burned the pick, who cares.

Who was that? One of the all-time best

Both Jeff and I watch a lot of U18 footy mate, you're totally wrong...he always showed exceptional footskills, rated in the best couple of kicks in his draft year...my knock was his lack of size and contested footy, put him in space and he was deadly by foot.
Odd to persist with him as an inside then. Would we not be better off building him into a hard running wingman type. I know he doesn't have Dmac's speed, but if he could get himself an elite engine, could he not play that role a bit like Burton did for a while. Just up and back, up and back.

Doedee out with a shoulder again. Probably from excessive NFL/NBA/MLB tweeting. Does the kid even care about footy and/or the Adelaide Football Club?
Had only played a couple of years prior to drafting from memory. Was a basketball convert from memory, probably just a US sports tragic. Not all players are footy heads.

He is allowed to have interests outside of footy. Or was that a sarcastic post? Hard to tell
Not having a go at the kid. Just think it's odd that he's tweeted over a hundred times this year and only one of them was about the crows (Tex's big first half v Essendon). Seems like footy is his 5th favourite sport!

A bit harsh I think. Last thing I'd want to do is tweet about work after spending all day there. He's young. I like that he doesn't live and breathe footy. He will come good we are all impatient just waiting for him imo
